After a ton of submissions, we have a definitive winner to our Vinyl Collective / Punknews.org contest. We had given the clue that there were 11 records that you could identify, but what do you know, more than a handful of people identified 12 records. I did not even notice the 12th record and would have never guessed that so many people would have figured all 12 out. Although we had a handful correctly identify all 12 records, 1 person stood out from the crowd as they not only got all 12 right, but they correctly guessed what color 9 of the 12 records were on.

The winner, Evan Weiss, did an amazing job. Congratulations. You will be receiving a $100 shopping spree at Vinyl Collective. (side note: Evan is in the Progress who put out their latest album on Negative Progression).

From what I gather, this is the 2nd in a split series between Hydrahead and Temporary Residence. The first being a Pelican/Mono split LP which is long out of print. The labels combined to press 4,000 copies each taking half. The copies we are getting a hold of represent Hydrahead’s half and are available on White, Yellow, and Amber Opaque. From the Temporary Residence site, they are already sold out of their half. If that is any indication, these guys will be gone super quick! We will be getting these in by Wednesday of next week.

BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! “Get Warmer” LP Picture Disc

Bomb the Music Industry’s upcoming album and debut for Asian Man Records will be released on a picture disc LP. Our good buddy, Mike Park, at Asian Man was kind enough to give me a really good price on this one and that is why you can pick up this picture disc for $7.99. Mike told me that this one is selling fast and as with their other titles will soon be out of print. Act fast or forever look on Ebay!

Through some help on the message board, I tracked down the guy putting this out and in the process stumbled into a great, new distributor. As a result, we should be getting our grubby hands on some very cool vinyl releases not previously available through us. Here is one of those pieces of wax. I will be getting my copies in by Wednesday of next week at the latest so get in your orders. At this point, i am only getting in a handful of each color.

Cadillac Blindside “Read The Book, Seen The Movie” LP 

This is one of those records that kind of slipped through the cracks. We had a handful of copies for a little while now, but it wasn’t until a very observant person saw that one of our boxes read “Cadillac Blindside” on the outside. A query on our message board made me realize that I didn’t have this record listed in our store. I only have 6 copies remaining of this fine piece of wax and after that, it might be history.
