I kind of forgot about the black vinyl when taking my original photos and then my battery died in my digital camera. Hope you like the pictures, they don’t quite do the records justice as this may have my vote for best packaging of the year. The vinyl and picture sleeves and jackets are all top-notch. I think my favorite color is the translucent blue. I was told by my distributor that they were shorted 600 copies and that this record will go out of print quicker than originally thought so be quick or else you will be bummed that yo missed out on this.

I am really excited about this. We are working with Foreign Leisure to offer you the pre-order on the latest Maritime album. The LP contains the upcoming album, “Heresy & The Hotel Choir” and a 7″ containing 2 exclusive covers of Hot Chip and Snailhouse (these tracks are nowhere else). The record’s release date is October 2nd, 2 weeks before the CD release. The vinyl is colored, Gold LP and Clear 7″ and the vinyl is limited to a one-time pressing of 1,000 copies.

My wife, my son, and myself are taking a much needed long weekend. We are traveling out to Indiana to visit some family. I will not be looking at a computer screen and will barely be looking at my cell phone. I will however be drinking lots of beer and eating anything fried and/or barbecued. I can’t stress enough how much I love this band. They are an example of a band who does their own thing and actually pull it off. They meld progressive rock, post-punk, indie rock, and bluesy garage rock into one of the coolest records I have heard in some time. For the vinyl offering of this soon to be classic album, we are pressing 1,000 copies on 4 different colors (250 for each color). You will note that the colors were inspired by food and it will be interesting to see how the colors actually turn out. As we did with the first pressing of “Planet of Ice”, we offer a limited number of people the opportunity to buy all 4 colors for a discounted price. You may have noticed that the first pressing of Minus the Bear “Planet of Ice” sold out. This has been the quickest selling vinyl release in the short history of Vinyl Collective releases. Because of this and the fact that there were not any copies left for the band to take on tour, we all decided a repress was important.

The 2nd pressing will be 1,000 copies, 500 on clear w/ gold splatter, 500 solid white vinyl.

Now this is the part to pay attention to. The Clear w/ Gold Splatter is a tour only edition. Never wanting to let down Vinyl Collective supporters, we asked the band if we could sell 50 on our site and luckily, they agreed. So we will have 50 for sale which will go rather quickly and the band will have the rest on their upcoming tour. Note that the White Vinyl is just as rare and is certain to sell out quickly, too.
