THE A.K.A.s (ARE EVERYWHERE) “White Doves and Smoking Guns” LP akas
Who knows why it happens, but some records just don’t sell very well. It isn’t because the release isn’t great, but any numbers of other factors. We, through our distribution, have had a number of really great vinyl releases just never really move and instead of having boxes of vinyl collecting dust, I offer you the $5.00 bargain priced LP.
The A.K.A.s debut album had all of the makings of a great selling record. The band features Mike Ski (of Brother’s Keeper), the band rocks (in an International Noise Conspiracy kind of way), and they had put out their album through the pseudo major label Fueled By Ramen. Reignition/Law of Inertia released this album on vinyl and I think their mistake was not pressing any colored vinyl. The release has a really cool die-cut jacket, but as you and I know, colored vinyl is something collectors seek out. Only 1,000 records have been pressed and it is not likely that this will go out of print any time soon, but I highly recommend everyone add this to your cart the next time you are shopping. It sounds great on wax and at $5.00, you can’t pass this up.
Every week or 2, I will try to find a cool record to sell you at a bargain price. If you run a label, put out a great record, and are still sitting on tons of boxes, get in touch. We might be able to help.
