Alright friends, it is times like this that I wish that the internet was a bar and all of you were sitting at a table with me having a beer so we can talk about the records that are coming in, the records that are being delayed, and the exciting things on the horizons. To try my best to get this effect, I have had a few beers (I finished a Duvel bomber and am having an Abbey, a rad Belgium beer and a rad imitation Belgium beer) and am now ready to give you the dirt on what is happening at Vinyl Collective.

We are finding it difficult to accept pre-orders and predict when those records will actually surface. In most cases, we try to set a date past the actual day that we are expecting to receive the records, but you know what? Something happens and before you know it, the intended date gets pushed back a few weeks or in some cases a month. It tears me up when this happens and usually the root of this happening is something that could have been avoided. Unfortunately, I am still learning as I go along and the end result is that some records are just taking way longer than they should. For this I apologize. The fact that the biggest spending holiday of the year is upon us makes missing these expected dates that much more of a bummer.

Below is a semi-updated Things to Expect and for the most part, it is a pretty accurate. Understand that some of the dates could get pushed back and when that happens, we will do our best to let you know. Truth is, after the holidays, Steph and I plan to take a week off from VC and plan to implement some of the things I learned in Chicago to better streamline how we do everything.  We hope to focus on ways to distinguish pre-order items from in stock items and if we can do that, our sanity will stay in tact.

We appreciate everyones support throughout this crazy period of Vinyl Collective. It is an exciting time for Vinyl Collective and the growth we have been experiencing is a direct result of the support you have given us. If this website was a bar, i would surely buy all of you a beer (and Scott Heisel and the Justins, i would buy you guys a Virgin Daiquiri).

I am super excited to announce the pre-orders for Drag the River and Scott Reynolds’ latest albums. And here is the raddest part, if you pre-order the vinyl, we will send you that album as a full digital download on December 23rd, the day of Festivus!

The Drag the River vinyl will be pressed on 3 colors : Grey (150), Brown (250), and Red (600). We have 25 sets of all 3 colors at a reduced price.
The Scott Reynolds’s vinyl will be pressed on 2 colors : Gold w/ Burgundy Swirl (200), and Burgundy/Gold half and half vinyl (300). There will be 25 sets of both colors and Scott Reynolds has agreed to sign an LP for each of those sets.

NOTE THAT THESE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. WE WILL GET THEM CLOSER TO THE RELEASE DATE OF 1/22/08.

So the other day when I got more American Steel “Rogues March” and “Jagged Thoughts” I was a bit surprised, because I thought they were both out of print. I had even seen a few copies fetch a few bucks on ebay and when I got more, I immediately asked my rep at Lumberjack what was up with those titles. He said they had 35 copies left of each title so I asked him if I could get 25 of each. These 25 of each could be the final copies for each title. If you were ever interested in picking this up, this could be your last chance to dance. Good luck.

Vinyl Collective will become Ferret Music’s exclusive vinyl partner. Vinyl Collective announces first 4 Ferret titles to be released on vinyl.

Denver, CO, November 27, 2007 – Vinyl Collective, a vinyl-only online store and vinyl imprint, today announced it has partnered with Ferret Music to become their exclusive vinyl partner.

Under the agreement, Vinyl Collective will work closely with Ferret Music to release their catalog on vinyl. The first releases to be pressed on vinyl will include:

I am very excited to be working with Carl Severson and the rest of the Ferret Music family. I have long held Ferret Music in high regard and am excited to release their incredible catalog on vinyl.

We released a triple LP box set for Every Time I Die in late 2006 which is now out of print. We are releasing Every Time I Die’s latest album, “The Big Dirty” on vinyl in December of 2007.

Just got word from Equal Vision that we could get some of the Converge “Petitioning Forever” vinyl from them. I had thought that Deathwish had put this out, so I am not sure if this is a repress or existing copies from that original press. The colors are very similar to the Deathwish pressing.
