Just a quick note to let you know that if you are counting on a package to arrive by Christmas, make sure you of 2 things:

1. That all the items in your order are available items and not ones that are available for pre-order.

2. That you upgrade your shipping to Priority Mail shipping.

If you don’t select Priority Mail, chances are you won’t get your package until after the holidays.

This friendly reminder comes courtesy of your friends at Vinyl Collective.

This is the time of year when holiday shopping gets f’ing crazy. The malls and streets are packed and it isn’t long before you are cursing the existence of this holiday and wishing harm on Santa’s elves.

Make your life and the lives around you easier by purchasing a Vinyl Collective Gift Certificate from the comfort of your own home.  We have them available as denominations of $25, $50, and $100. Once you purchase one, we will email it to you as a pdf, that simple.

The holidays are stressful time, but they don’t have to be!

Just got in 24 boxes of vinyl and we have a lot of work ahead of us. Luckily I have some really great friends who have agreed to come over and help us get these records out. Most will go out tomorrow. Know that we plan on drinking a lot of beer while packing these records. I will more thank likely get some Abbey, some PBR, some Leffe, and we already have some Guinness and 1554 at home.

The records turned out great, but I had hoped the yellow would be more of a mustard yellow. The mistake I made though is in the description. i had listed it as a gatefold and actually I thought it was a gatefold, but instead it is a LP jacket with full color picture sleeve. You might wonder how something like this can happen, I guess I can only blame my mind and how busy it has been lately. Sorry about the confusion.

thanks to everyone who placed an order. Below are some more photos:

We got the Bomb the Music Industry / O Pioneers split 10″s in on Saturday night at 9pm. It was really bizarre as steph and I were watching of all things, America’s Most Wanted. We never watch this show, but through bored channel surfing, there we were. You can’t help but get a little freaked out watching that show when all of a sudden someone bangs loudly at our door followed by a couple quick door bell rings. We were like, “What the Fuck?” 9pm on a Saturday is not the time we normally expect visitors. I look out the window see a Penske truck across the street. Then I see some dude smoking a cigarette bringing boxes across the street. Those boxes happened to be these BTMI/OP splits. I always forget that Fed Ex ground not only delivers on Saturdays, but they rent Penske Trucks when they are over capacity.

Either case, we got the records and they look amazing. Most of them will go out today. The VC special covers with the sets of all 4 colors will go out once we get the shirts.

Also, be warned that I have posted links to the Mystery color so if you would rather wait til they show up at your door, do not click the link. I will say that they are my favorite color of the bunch and I plan to steal this color idea for a future release. They just look so bad ass.

I am super excited to announce that we got the green light to let our message board vote for the colors of wax for Poison the Well’s Versions. We plan to have this out in February and plan to announce a pre-order soon. Go to this thread on our message board, suggest colors. Next week, we will tabulate the highest suggestions and leave it up for a vote on our the board. Help us pick something amazing.

Today has been a nightmare. Our internet stopped working last night. We got someone to fix it today, but our wireless router got fucked in the process. Steph and I worked on trying to fix it for nearly 4 hours and I was seriously ready to get violent. Instead, I opted to go to my therapist, otherwise known as Big Hoss Barbecue. I got some ribs, some onion rings, and a few beers, and somehow the world was a better place. Our wireless is still fucked, but I am making due. Here are some restocks from yesterday, I should be getting some bomb the music industry / opioneers splits today and we will do our best to get them out! Lots of good stuff on this list:

While supplies last, we will be sending the very classy bumper sticker you see above with all 12″ orders. We hope you have fun with them.

We thought about ripping off an old Record Breaker’s bumper sticker that read, “If You Think Our Selection Sucks, Wait Til You See Our Prices”, but we opted for the above one.

Just got in the repress of Bomb the Music Industry’s “To Leave or Die in Long Island”. As you can see, it was pressed on both pink/black and pink/blue vinyl and both turned out looking really nice. Your pre-orders will go out today unless you pre-ordered the BTMI/OP split and if that is the case, all that should go out early next week. We still have some copies of this release so act quickly if you are interested. The copies are hand-numbered which you can see from the following image.

Rocky Votolato “Makers” German Import LP

Despite what you see in the above photo, we just got in a handful of copies of “Makers”, my favorite album from Rocky Votolato. From what I gather, this was only pressed in Germany and is close to being out of print. I should be getting more next year, but I only have a few in the store right now.

So explain to me how this happens, the above photo was of a record that was in the very middle of the shipment. The surrounding records were all fine, but the one in the middle was completely broken in half. The only thing I can think of is that when traveling through customs, a customs official decided to bend a record and tuck it back into the middle of the box. So fucking weird.
