Flogging Molly "Float" LP shipping today

A quick note, your flogging molly LPs are shipping today. They look very pretty!

Restocks: Thom Yorke, Ratatat, Mountain Goats, Ergs, and more

Got in some stuff from Toxic Pop and from Matador. The Ergs 7″ we got in are the same as the ones we got from Wallride, but since we got the from two different sources, we will post them up as two separate titles. Also got in some more copies of the Mountain Goats, Thom Yorke, and Tapes and Tapes. That Mountain Goats record is really good and I can see the comparisons to the Weakerthans.

RATATAT “Classics” LP
SICK SICK BIRDS “Chemical Trains” 7″
Tapes ‘N Tapes “The Loon” LP

Molsook Records new and restocks (Hex Machine, Tigershark, Apeshit, Thanks God)

HEX MACHINE “RUN TO EARTH” LP w/ CD (100 ON YELLOW)
HEX MACHINE “RUN TO EARTH” LP w/ CD (200 ON GREY/BLUE)
HEX MACHINE “RUN TO EARTH” LP w/ CD (200 ON WHITE/BLUE)
TIGERSHARK / APESHIT split LP lavendar vinyl
TIGERSHARK / THANK GOD split 10″

So I got in a few restocks as well as a few of the other releases that Molsook has put out and I thought I should talk up the label a little bit. Jason who runs the label is responsible for giving LaGrecia their name. Jason used to play in a band with Jason and Dana (of LaGrecia) back in the day. The band was called Bound and they were a straight edge hardcore band. When Jason Shevchuk started jamming with Dana and deciding to make the band a band and not a solo project, they drove down to visit Jason LaGreca (his last name inspired the band’s name) for an album release show he was having in Richmond. The trip was really fun and not only helped them decide on a band name, but the trip also inspired the song title “Slower than Monasses”. Jason of Molsook puts out some seriously rocking records and they not only look great, they are all very limited.

TP/NR: THIS IS HELL / CANCER BATS split 7" green w/ white haze

THIS IS HELL / CANCER BATS split 7″ green w/ white haze

You might wonder how this record and Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground have something in common? Well as fate would have it, I was sitting at the same table with Kay Kay’s manager, Will Evans. He is a really rad guy. We got to talking about vinyl and he mentioned how he was doing a label that put out this record from This is Hell / Cancer Bats. He said he really isn’t doing the label much these days and only had a handful of copies left. So being the savvy person that I am (I am being sarcastic), I agreed to buy the remaining copies. So while they last, I will have the green w/ white haze copies of this record. And Will is sending me 3 copies of the test pressings and a few of the other colors that we will send out randomly with orders of this record. Get the record while you can and know that sometime in the near future, this record will be history.

In the coming weeks and months, you will see that I will be making a strong effort to add more and more to the store. I will write more about it, but we have just verbally committed to getting a warehouse space near the art galleries on Sante Fe. We plan to move in on April 1st and once we are situated, I am going to make it my mission to up our number of releases from 2,000 releases we carry now to about 10,000 within a year. I have a vision to one day have pretty much any new vinyl release available (and maybe some used ones down the road)

You will notice some weird, new titles new to VC. We have more that we will soon be adding but here are a few things from AC/DC, Deftones, Green Day, Thrice, Bronx, Jack Johnson, and more. Yes, some of the releases are really expensive, but many are imports.

THE HELIO SEQUENCE "Keep Your Eyes Ahead " LP

THE HELIO SEQUENCE “Keep Your Eyes Ahead ” LP

I saw these guys for the first time when they toured with Minus the Bear. I was surprised by how good they were. Take away the beats and blips and you have some really well crafted power-pop songs. When subpop sent me a promo, I was excited to hear the album and I must say that it is pretty, pretty good (imagine Larry David saying this). The album provides the perfect soundtrack to a laid back night.

Comes with a download of the album.

Arm the Poor / Stuck Lucky "We Never Sleep" split LP

Arm the Poor / Stuck Lucky “We Never Sleep” split LP

The label describes this release as: Punk/ska, EXTRA-core bands Arm The Poor ( Tampa, Fl.) and Stuck Lucky ( Nashville, Tn.) join forces on “We Never Sleep” LP on exclusive Black Hole Black, colored vinyl. Limited pressing of only 497. Exclusive for Vinyl Collective customers this vinyl include limited sticker and a personal note from a band member. These bands are redefining ska core with blistering speed and relentless horns.

The funny thing is I checked for a note and the note said “Record Labels are on wrong sides”.

Weakerthans "Reunion Tour" LP 180 gram w/ free download

Weakerthans “Reunion Tour” LP 180 gram w/ free download

We just got in 14 copies of the incredible latest album from The Weakerthans. Yes, it is a bit pricey at 19.99, but it is on 180 gram vinyl and it comes with a full album download of the entire album. I think this is the U.S. version and I will be trying to track down the overseas version, too.
