Archive for March, 2008

Our move went very smooth besides the fact that I hit a parked van with my 26 foot Uhaul truck (don’t tell Uhaul, they did not notice the damages). Our insurances will be doing their thing to resolve the situation. The move though went fast and we already have a lot of our stuff set up. We had some friends help us build some shelves for overstock vinyl and we have already got a few of our desks set up. All in all, things are shaping up nicely.

We will be spending most of today getting our phones and internet set up, getting boxes unloaded, and getting stuff organized. We won’t be getting orders out and we may not get to questions until tomorrow.

I am stoked at the new place and can’t wait to show some photos.

p.s. I got in 4 colors of the new hot water discography, got in the Four Year Strong, Gaslight vinyl (no colored which sucks), and a Coalesce repress. We will post and begin to ship everything tomorrow!

PROTEST THE HERO “Fortress” LP black vinyl

PROTEST THE HERO “Fortress” LP purple vinyl

PROTEST THE HERO “Fortress” LP clear vinyl

Cobraside are pressing the latest album from Protest the Hero, we are expecting to get them over the next week or so. They have been kind enough to donate test pressings for this pre-order so make sure you get your orders in. Orders placed will be entered to win a test press. We will announce a winner towards the end of April. thanks.

So we are moving into our new space on Saturday. We hope to be back up and running on Tuesday, April 1st. Wish us luck with getting our phones and internet set up. I am so absolutely excited about our new space and if any of you are ever visiting Denver, consider yourself invited. We put up some shelves last night and afterwards, we checked out the bar (Continental Room) half a block down from our space and it is a really cool punk rock/rockabilly bar. I knew the bartender and door man which is a plus. They have a great beer selection, a nice jukebox, and a few pool tables. Not trying to brag, but me and a friend kicked some ass in doubles and during one game, I got an 8 ball break. How crazy is that? I take all of this that we found a great space.

So since we are moving, we thought we should have a big sale so that the following week when we move stuff from our storage spaces, we will have less to move. For one week and one week only, the following records are on sale at the following prices. Take this opportunity to pick something up you were on the fence about or a color you weren’t sure you wanted to pick up. Next Thursday, the prices will go back to normal. Thanks.

SAVES THE DAY “Under the Boards” LP
So we got word this week that copies have been shipped to us for the Saves the Day under the boards. We also found out that the colors we are getting are Blue and Green. I have decided to make Blue Color 1 and Green Color 2. The reason I made the decision is because Cobraside sent us Blue first and the Green colors were shipped a day later. We should have copies to send out by Monday or Tuesday. I will show photos. Those of you wondering about the purple copies on Ebay, Cobraside always does weird in between colors and that same person ends up with them and sells them on ebay. We won’t be getting any of those.

We have more copies on Blue and Green coming so if you have not placed your order for them yet, you still can. And we will have 2 test pressings to give away of this record and you are entered by purchasing the records through VC. thanks.

I have some good news and some bad news. After MiAmante’s first package was sent back to them for who knows what reason, they sent us a 2nd package and it arrived today. The postal service just plain sucks and it is unreal how long it took for something so simple to happen. The good news is that your pre-orders for the records will go out today, the bad news is that it looks like the last 5 Gregor Samsa LPs which were shipped to us the first time around have been lost. We will be refunding you if you placed an order for those. Sorry that this had to happen this way.

I still have a few copies of Aloha, Cobalt, Metal Hearts, and Headlights. I will try to get more of the Owen.

NO USE FOR A NAME “The Feel Good Record of the Year” LP (w/ CD)

VINYL COMES WITH FULL ALBUM ON CD

Their 9th proper studio release, The Feel Good Record of the Year, serves to solidify their firm grip on the underground music scene. Laden with the perfect marriage of aggressive guitar work and the ear-catching, melodic hooks that No Use For A Name have become known for, this release promises to satiate long time fans and endear a plethora of new ones.

I placed an order with BYO in January that just showed up today. Between the punk rock bowling tournament and moving their offices, BYO had not been shipping records. Luckily we got a good spread of their records including colored vinyl of the Anti-Flag/Bouncing Souls, NOFX/Rancid, and Leatherface/Hot Water Music. We also got in a bunch of Fat Wreck stuff including Loved Ones, Screeching Weasel, Lagwagon, Flatliners, Mad Caddies and more.

I know some of you might be wondering how we are able to distinguish the difference in the first and 2nd pressings on black vinyl, well I am glad you asked. The 2nd pressing has the It’s Alive url and address in white print on the backside of the LP jacket. There might be other differences but that is the one we can tell right off the bat.

One more thing to note, the picture of the Chinese Telephones / Dear Landlord split look orange in the picture, but it is actually pinkish/red.
