I know that many of you have been waiting on us to announce the pre-order of the Gunner Records titles. For those of you who don’t know, Gunner Records is this really great label in Germany who has licensed records from The Gaslight Anthem, Fake Problems, and Mischief Brew.

The records will be shipping from Germany today or early next week. I expect that barring any delays, we should have them in about 3 to 4 weeks.

Do not snooze on these, they will go really fast. These import editions are not easy to get and for being imports, the prices are still really fair.

TIM BARRY Rivanna Junction T-Shirt

In our effort to add more shirts to store, I talked to Tim Barry about sending us some of his shirts. When we first started working with Tim, we had talked about making some Tim Barry shirts, but I had always considered the thought of making a shirt for a person as opposed to a band a little different. I think that this shirt design works out well because, yes, it is a Tim Barry shirt, but it also isn’t. Does that make sense?

A quick little fact for you, this shirt was featured in an issue of Spin magazine in a section where readers were asked to pick out which people were rockstars and which were bartenders. A bartender in this segment happened to be wearing this shirt. I was pretty stoked to see this as this is about the only chance any of our artists might ever make it into such a big magazine.

We only got a handful of shirts so if you want one, I recommend you pick one up soon. (Available in sizes Small through XL).

We got in a few orders yesterday while I was hanging out at home taking care of my son. We got a really big SST restock which includes so many classic/essential records from All, Descendents, Black Flag, Minutemen, Bad Brains, Firehose, and more. We also got in a bunch of Suicide Squeeze titles that we have not had for a while including the Russican Circles 7″, Minus the Bear’s Menos el Oso, and singles by These Arms are Snakes, Elliott Smith, and Modest Mouse. We also just got in stock for the first time an LP by Fairweather. A quick tip, if you haven’t picked up the Russican Circles and Thease Arms are Snakes singles, the other singles from the series are already out of print like Black Mountain, Unicorns, and Of Montreal. I would expect that Russian Circles and These Arms are Snakes are not far behind.

Today, we received our copies of See You Next Tuesday’s Parasite. As you can tell by the photo, the records turned out pretty badass. I won’t be able to see these til tomorrow since I am home all day with Logan who seems to be feeling a bit better.

Since I am not in today, I am not sure if Andy will be sending out copies today or tomorrow. You will see an email with tracking number when they ship.

I got a few bits of really excellent news today:

• Asian Man Records have been kind enough to give us a test pressing for both Mike Park albums, “For the Love of Music” and “North Hangook Falling”. IF you have ordered or will order either or both albums, you will be entered to win a test pressing. Make sure you order soon. WE sold out of the first 100 copies of each album and Mike was kind enough to let us have another 100 copies. So we will have 200 of the 300 copies that will be pressed for each album.
• We will finally be getting in Paulson “All at Once” in early next week with the shipment of Russian Circles and Ghost Buffalo.
• Speaking of Russian Circles, I just found out that not only are we gonna be getting in copies of “Station”, but we will also be getting in copies of the repress of “Enter”. Monday is gonna be a pretty insane day so do not be disappointed if we can’t get all of the pre-orders out on Monday. We will to our best, but some of the orders might not go out til Tuesday.

I am at home with my son who is still sick. He is napping on the couch next to me as I type. We recently got DVR and I recently recorded Pulp Fiction, Stranger than Fiction, X-Men, episodes of Weeds and South Park, and the VH1 series “Heavy: The Story of Metal”. Logan will be getting an eduction of all things Metal today. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Thanks to our highly efficient us postal service, we finally got in copies of the Jailhouse Records’ Moral Crux reissues. I am really excited to be carrying this as I have been a long time Moral Crux fan. It almost seems like the pop-punk gods have been overlooking the release schedules of landmark punk records lately with the reissues of the Queers and Screeching Weasel, and the release of the latest Teenage Bottlerocket. I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this album and keep an eye out for the upcoming reissues from Jailhouse. They have some rad stuff on the horizons.

After much deliberation and a lot of going back and forth, we have finally compiled the final vote list for the Vinyl Cooperative Label. There were hundreds of incredible albums voted on but when it came down to it the above releases were the top 15 releases.

My plan of attack is to make every effort I can to license the top 4 releases for the label. I feel really good about the Falcon and A Wilhelm Scream album’s chances of being pressed, but not as good about the Suicide Machines or At the Drive In. Regardless of how I feel, I will leave no stone unturned and I hope to have updates on the progress over the next week.

If at any point, I get declined the opportunity to license one of the top 4 records voted upon, I will move to the 5th release, then the 6th, and so on. Wish me luck.

I posted the top 15 voted releases not because I think I will have to move that far down the list, but because I figured some of you might geek out at looking at what other releases made it in the top 15.

SCOOTER JAMES (from Love Me Destroyer) /Charly “The City Mouse” Fasano “Taking the Workhorse” book

The newest addition to FAST GEEK PRESS, “Title/Taking the Workhorse to the Glue Factory” is a split book of poetry written by Charly “the city mouse” Fasano and Scooter James of Love Me Destroyer and Pinhead Circus. Just think of it like a seven inch, but on paper! Painter Vincent Fasano is back for a second time as illustrator for Scooter’s poems.

OVERJOID “S/T” Cassette Roy from Lucero

Analog Empire Cassette Recordings’ newest release features the manic electronic instrumentals of OVERJOID (a collaboration by Roy Berry of Lucero, and Terrance Brown). Limited 100 hand painted j card covers by artist Vincent “cheap” Fasano.

Also comes with a mini-CDr with all of the audio from the cassette.
