Back when Side One Dummy was doing a pre-order for one of Chuck Ragan’s albums, they gave away a free 7″. The 7″ was hand-numbered out of 600 and was signed by the man himself. I got a call from my main man Eddie at Side One and he said he had 50 7″s left over from that pre-order. 25 of them are signed and hand-numbered, 25 are just the 7″. I know these will fly out of the door so make sure you pick one up. Hell yeah.

I figured putting Braid in the headline would get some of your attention. Braid were such a phenomenal band and their ending was a supreme bummer. Hey Mercedes and City on Film are projects started by members of Braid and I would recommend both. I think for nostalgia’s sake, I will always hold Braid much closer to my heart, but HM and COF are worth checking out. I might be mistaken, but I think Hey Mercedes are now done, too. Todd from Grand Theft Autumn put out these records and he was so kind to throw in a test pressing for Hey Mercedes which is limited to 500 copies and hand-numbered.

The Wardogs first 7″ sees a co-release between Asian Man and Solidarity Recordings. Solidarity compares them to street punk staples like the briggs, rancid, and street dogs. Their members are message boarders (wardogs!) who also happens to be randy from Solidarity’s brother and mailorder man at Asian Man. Check out some tunes at their Myspace page.

Solidarity has been generous enough to give us a test pressing to one lucky winner. We should have the records in stock early next week.

We just got in Hawthorne Street’s latest release, Suicide Note’s newest album, “Empty Rooms”. On cream vinyl, with a CD, and with killer artwork, I highly recommend checking this out. I will admit I am not too familiar with these guys, but I do know that Hawthorne STreet has some really great releases and I am pretty sure these guys put something out on Ferret, too. Any fans out there?
