AUSTIN LUCAS “At War With Freak Folk” 10″
CHUCK RAGAN/ AUSTIN LUCAS “Bristle Ridge” LP euro Import
AUSTIN LUCAS “Putting The Hammer Down” LP german import
CHUCK RAGAN/ AUSTIN LUCAS split 7″ german import

Just got in a big ol box from Hometown Caravan. In it were 50 copies of At War With Freak Folk, the newish 6 song 10″ from Austin Lucas which is limited to only 500 copies. This record is fucking brilliant and has my favorite Austin Lucas song, “Go West” which will be released on the album we are putting out. The songs are so fucking brilliant. Wow.

And Elmer with Chuck’s approval sent us 24 copies of the Euro pressing of “Bristle Ridge”. This has my 2nd favorite Austin song, “Sun or Snow” which chokes me up every time I hear it.

We also got in a few “Putting the hammer Down” and some more Chuck/Austin split 7 “s. If Austin is not on your radar, here is your chance to get almost everything!

TP/PO: OLEHOLE "Holemole" LP w/ CD (2 colors)

OLEHOLE “Holemole” LP clear red vinyl w/ CD
OLEHOLE “Holemole” LP white vinyl w/ CD
OLEHOLE “Holemole” LP set of both colors w/ CD

Olehole is a new band featuring Brian Moss who previously played in both the Ghost and Hanalei. For a few years, he was also the publicist for Suburban Home Records as he runs Guerilla Public Inflations. Brian has been rocking the free world for years and years and after all the recordings and projects he has been involved with, i can say without hesitation that this is my absolute favorite project that he has been involved with. If I had to compare them to 3 bands, I would say that they make a perfect marriage of Fugazi, Hot Water Music, and Karate. This record will fit nicely on your shelf next to Able Baker Fox, Only Thunder (which wil be here soon), and Planes Mistaken for Stars records.

This record has my highest recommendation and I urge you to give them a listen. Go to their myspace page and listen to 3 songs from the album. Leave it to Justin at Underground Communique to uncover another great band. I love this record and hope you give it an ear.

Justin has been kind enough to get us a test pressing, purchase a copy of this and you will be entered to win.

These should be at our doors by next week.

Restocks: Gaslight Anthem 59 Sound,MxPx,Flogging Molly

THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM “The 59 Sound” LP black vinyl
FLOGGING MOLLY “Float” LP gatefold
Gogol Bordello ìGypsy Punksî dbl LP
Gogol Bordello ìSuper Taranta!î dbl LP red vinyl
MXPX ìPanicî LP (Gold Vinyl)
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones ìJackknife To A Swanî LP

We just got in 50 more Gaslight Anthem 59 sound LPs. Get em while you can. If you don’t own this record, do yourself a favor and pick it up. The record is great and if you haven’t noticed the rest of the world is finally picking up on the fact that the Gaslight Anthem are amazing. I just read a piece in this month’s Rolling Stone after reading a cover feature on Kerrang. I am so proud of these guys. I didn’t write about it at the time, but the first week out, the 59 sound debuted on the billboard charts at #70 with over 7,000 sold. That number has a lot to do with all of you because the U.S. sales of the album with Vinyl Collective equaled 1,300 which really helped those first week numbers. Pretty rad huh?

Photos: Alkaline Trio deluxe set items / Capital vinyl

We got in the remaining elements for the Alkaline Trio deluxe sets. As you can see from the photo, the shirt, coozie, button, and pint glass all turned out great. Most of the sets will go out today, hopefully all of them. There is a lot of packaging involved with these sets so a few might go out tomorrow. There might be a few extra items left over. We will let you know for sure.

And although we have already sent them all, we forgot to post a photo of the gold Capital vinyl which looks great!

New to VC: Dr Dog,Dr Dre,Mars Volta,Silversun Pickups,Thin Lizzy

We just got a load of really really really great records in. That Dr. Dog record is probably my favorite of the year. If it sells out quick which it might since we kept a few for staff, I will get more. If you have not heard them, this new album is phenomenal. Fans of Kay Kay will love them. I am stoked to see them on Saturday.

We finally got in the new Mars Volta but it is fucking expensive. Ouch! We also finally got in the Silversun PIckups which was one of my favorite records of last year. And crazy piece of trivia, the singer of the Silversun Pickups was at the Suburban Home anniversary show for the Friday night show. Crazy huh?

We got in the new Brian Wilson, got in Dr Dre’s 2001, got in the Game, Nine Inch Nails, and Thin Lizzy!

DR. DOG “Fate” LP

PO: GHOST MICE / BROOK PRIDEMORE split 7" mixed color vinyl (hand#d/Colored)

GHOST MICE / BROOK PRIDEMORE split 7″ mixed color vinyl (hand#d/Colored)

Our friends at Crafty are doing a co-release with Planit-X to put out this new Ghost Mice/Brook Pridemore split 7″. The pressing of 500 copies are all on mixed color vinyl, but Dan went over and beyond to bring you a Vinyl Collective exclusive version of the record. He has taken it upon himself to hand # and color our copies, 50 in total. So the way he explained it, the coloring will make each record a little different than the other one.

3 songs by Ghost Mice including a song called “The Alchemist”. I wonder if this inspired by the very incredible book of the same name. 2 songs by Brook Pridemore. Get yours while you still can. We should have the records by next week.

Your Help: A Vinyl Collective T-shirt for the Fest

Any ideas? We have all been throwing around ideas and were curious if you had any suggestions for a Vinyl Collective Shirt specifically for the Fest.

Restock: Alkaline Trio Remains dbl LP on 10 different colors

ALKALINE TRIO “Remains” dbl LP 10 copies (different colors)
ALKALINE TRIO “Remains” dbl LP multiple color craziness repress

So we count 10 different color varieties and have set aside one of each color to offer 1 more person a set of all 10 colors. But understand that we might not be getting every single variety and there might be other variants from this pressing. For everyone who is interested in this, if you order more than 1 copy of this record, we will give you more than 1 color of the vinyl. We do not have on record what color variety we sent you before so please do not ask us what we sent previously. Just go for it, chances are you will get a different variety and if you dont’, you still have one of the rarest Alkaline Trio records around.

For those keeping score at home, here are the varieties we counted: Red/Grey, Red/Plum, Red/Purple,Dk Green/White Marble, Grey/Purple, Grey/White Marble, Purple/Purple, Dk Purple/Grey, Dk Purple/Purple, Dk Green/Plum.

Sorry for all the confusion. This could just be written off as the lost pressing of Remains. Good luck.
