Photos of Avail, Gaslight Anthem, and A Life Once Lost
As promised, here are some photos of the Avail reissues that we just got in. They all look great. Since our friends at Pirates posted photos of the gatefold, we just posted photos of the jackets and the vinyl. I am so excited to have these out on Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective. I will have some down at the Fest in case you are waiting to pick up some records there.
We also just got in the repress of the Gaslight Anthem sink or swim demos. We also got in the 2 colors of A Life Once Lost’s “Iron Gag”. Everything looks great. Your records will ship by week’s end, maybe sooner.

Download our Delicious Vinyl Fest sampler for FREE

In yet another great business decision from your friends at Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective, we have decided to give you our Free Fest LP, “Delicious Vinyl” for free digitally. I am just in love with every song on this sampler and am absolutely stoked for the Fest. I figured that since we didn’t make the cut for the Official Fest compilation, we would just give you an unofficial Fest sampler featuring the tracks from the LP we are giving away for free at the Fest.
Of course I am biased, but I think that these 9 songs are just fucking awesome. I don’t mean to brag, but I just love all the bands we are working with and although not all of our bands are making it down for the Fest, we have some great representation this year. Here is the track listing:
Side A
1. Jon Snodgrass “Fast In Last”
2. Two Cow Garage “Come Back to Shelby”
3. Ghost Buffalo “Indecision”
4. The Takers “Drift”
Side B
1. Austin Lucas “Go West (demo)”
2. Mike Hale “Wasn’t That You (demo)”
3. Josh Small “Waterwings”
4. Ninja Gun “Rainbow”
5. Drag The River “I Remember Now”
Visit our Fest page to stream the sampler, see some of the things we will have for sale, and print out schedules for the Fest. This weekend is gonna rule!

You can also visit the already mentioned Suburban Home Fest page to download the tracks individually. We will soon announce details on how you can get the Fest LP for free.
I am Overwhelmed Vinyl Collective Update
I had really hoped to post this update on Monday, but my day began with our landlord telling me that we were getting a delivery in the back of the warehouse. I thought man that is weird that UPS is here so early. I walk to the back and notice that it isn’t UPS, it is a freight company bringing us 4 more pallets of vinyl. I knew we were getting a big delivery this week but it isn’t the best way to start a Monday. We had to do some serious re-arranging to fit all the boxes into our warehouse moving boxes onto a newly built shelf. Without that shelf and one I bought last week, we would surely be screwed.
I guess you can say that I am feeling overwhelmed at the thought of trying to fit a week’s worth of work in 3 days. Andy, Caroline, Geoff, Ethan, Joey, Zach and myself will be flying out early on Thursday morning to join Ninja Gun for some South Georgia fun. The next morning, we will be heading out to No Idea Records to pick up a shit ton of boxes for the Flea Market. Please buy stuff from us as we don’t want to go home with all that stuff.
Alright, here is a quick recap of things to expect this week:
- We just got in Avail “Over the James”, “4 AM Friday”, and “Dixie”, A Life Once Lost “Iron Gag”, the Gaslight Anthem’s “sink or swim demos”, IMadeThisMistake t-shirts, and Dead to Me’s new EP. Expect photos as soon as today, and know that it is our goal to get these pre-orders out by week’s end. We are still playing catchup from all the Deluxe Sets and pre-orders from last week, but Josh and Marshall will still be kicking ass while we are at the Fest.
- When I was planning on posting this update on Monday, I was planning on posting the pre-order for 2 new records on Tuesday, Kid Dynamite’s “Cheap Shots, Youth Anthems” LP, and Dear and the Headlights’ “Small Steps, Heavy Hooves” dbl LP. Since this update is a day late, we will post the pre-order for both records on Wednesday. Our friends Zach and Joey started a new label, Clay Street Records and these are their first 2 releases. Both records are being pressed out of an edition of 1,000 copies (300/700). Let’s do 2pm Mountain Standard time on Wednesday.
- After tons of email and lots of thought, I have decided to post some of the Delicious Vinyl Fest LPs for sale in our store. I wanted to offer something really cool for the Fest, but I realize that a lot of vinyl collectors will not be able to make it out to the Fest and should be entitled to a copy. That said, I will post a small number of records in the store and may just post them for pre-order on Wednesday, too. And we will be posting the LP for free download on our site this week. We just love the songs, saw that No Idea posted a free sampler, and thought why the hell not.
- We will also post a pre-order for the debut single by the Takers. I will give you a proper introduction and explain why everyone should know about this band. The 2 song single will be pressed in an edition of 500 copies (150/350). Let me just say quickly that I have no problem proclaiming the Takers Suburban Home’s Outlaw Country band.
- The pallets we got in was supposed to have Portugal the Man’s “Censored Colors”. They didn’t so we expect those to show up any day now and hope to send them out by week’s end. I can’t wait to see the final package.
- We will be posting a bunch of restocks and new records this week. Just got in the new Anchor Arms, Luquid Limbs, and more.
I think that is it for now. I will be posting a Fest update later this week to let everyone know what to expect at our Flea Market booth and some of the bands we are excited to see at the Fest.

Our Good friend Geoff Allen has launched Funisok.com

A very close friend of ours, Geoff Allen, has just launched the site Fun is Ok. Geoff is one of our favorite graphic designers and I wanted to take a quick second to share with everyone what he is doing. If you are in need of graphic design for anything, please consider Geoff. He has done a lot of projects for us including Ninja Gun’s “Restless Rubes”, Two Cow Garage “Speaking In Cursive”, and a ton of merch (he is working on the Dillinger Four deluxe set items as we speak).
Please take a cruise through his porftolio site. He has lots of great things to check out.
Revival Tour, Thanks for the Hangover UPDATE
I went to the revival tour last night in Ft Collins and am still hungover at 4:30pm. I have no problem saying that this is one of the coolest tours I have ever seen. Seeing Austin Lucas, Jon Snodgrass, Tim Barry, Ben Nichols, and Chuck Ragan all playing together, man, it just doesn’t get much better than that. Starting to drink beers at 4pm and drinking til 2am is not the smartest thing I could have done. I just can’t bounce back from a good boozing like I used to. The tour is in Denver tonight and I plan to muster the constitution to enjoy another night. I plan on taking it easy tonight though.
As you might expect, there are lots of things to report at Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective, here is a brief synopsis:
- I took a few videos from the Revival Tour show last night, Ralph has already posted some of them on our Youtube Channel. I wil be taking more videos tonight.
- As of today, you can now stream Joey Cape, Useless I.D., and Two Cow Garage on Punknews. Please give them all a spin, you might just find that you dig what you hear.
- I called up Ishay from Useless I.D. the other day and that phone call is now a Vinyl Collective podcast. Vinyl Collective’s podcast feed (THIS IS A NEW FEED, PLEASE REPLACE YOUR OLD FEED WITH THIS ONE)
Useless ID Podcast [mp3] - We just posted the Delicious Vinyl Free Fest LP for your streaming pleasure on our newly created Fest page. Please check out the compilation and the page. On it, you can get an idea of the merch we are bringing, the times our bands are playing, and Ralph made some handy dandy pdf files for you to print out and fold and put in your pocket. Let me know what you think of the new tunes from everyone.
- Joey Cape’s new album, “Bridge” is currently #4 on Interpunk. That is amazing considering all the new albums that Joey’s album is ahead of.
- There is a professional video for Revival Road that features footage from the tour. Check it out here.
I plan on getting back on track tomorrow with a few new records and restocks. I hope everyone out there is feeling better than I am.
Joey Cape looking for Keyboardist for upcoming tour
In a Myspace blog, Joey Cape wrote the following:
Hey it’s Joey here. I’m looking for a keyboardist in the San Francisco area to accompany me on some small U.S. tours in February and April. Someone with a synth that can produce string instruments, piano, organ and less organic sounds as well. If you are interested, please send a video link of you playing with subject heading “Keyboardist”. It would be nice if you sing but not essential.
I suggested he find this guy.
