Almost out of print: Portugal the Man "Church Mouth"

portugaltheman_church

PORTUGAL THE MAN “Church Mouth” LP raspberry (solid) with a drop of cream

From time to time, I plan to give you a head’s up about records that will soon be out of print. This edition is a release we put out and after 1,000 copies over 4 colors (250 each of Raspberry, Plum, Chocolate, and Deep Blue all w/ some cream), we only have 13 copies left on Raspberry. I know some of you are big fans and some of you may have held off on picking this up. Here is your last chance to dance.

I think we will repress at some point, but it probably won’t be for a little while.

Song of the Day: Foals "Balloons"

foals_antidote

Today’s installment of “Song of the Day” is brought to you by our own Seabron Ward.

I fucking love Minus The Bear and I have a huge crush on Bloc Party, so when these 2 bands came together and had a baby by the name of Foals I was really really stoked.

This song makes me want to dance and simultaneously chug PBR, which few songs legitimately do to me. Plus guys that have English accents just seem hipper than guys with no accents……

by the way, the whole hipper with accents thing is a completely false myth.

You can find the album in our store here.

The song, “Balloons” is the 6th track off of “Antidote″. You can download the song here.

As the Song of the Day continues, you can find past installments here. You will also notice that each week’s streaming player will have each Song of the Day added so that by week’s end, there will be 5 songs. We hope you like the track. Thanks Seabron.

TP/PO: DALEK "Gutter Tactics" dbl LP 2-tone blue/green vinyl

DALEK “Gutter Tactics” dbl LP 2-tone blue/green vinyl

1000 pressed, glossy gatefold jackets designed by Paul Romano (Mastadon). Black and silver inner sleeves, 2 tone blue and green lps.

As you can tell from the photo, the packaging is absolutely amazing. I know that there are a lot of Dalek fans out there. These will be shipping to us soon, we should have them as soon as next week. There is a test press contest, too. good luck.

TP/PO: New Asbestos vinyl from MY HEART TO JOY

MY HEART TO JOY “Seasons in Verse” LP black vinyl
MY HEART TO JOY “Seasons in Verse” LP white vinyl
MY HEART TO JOY “Seasons in Verse” LP blue vinyl
MY HEART TO JOY “Seasons in Verse” LP greenish/bluish/greyish vinyl

The first full length from Berlin, Connecticut’s own My Heart to Joy. On ‘Seasons in Verse’, My Heart To Joy move from a band who, while never having heard of Hot Water Music, kept getting compared to them, to a band who can’t decide if The Promise Ring or Braid is better. (The answer is Braid by the way.) Somehow, in between taking nods from 90’s emo bands, and post-hardcore and Kinsella brothers, My Heart To Joy manage to create a record that is not dated or contrived, but really fucking sweet.

Pressing Info:
200 – Black
100 – white
100 – blue
100 – greenish/bluish/greyish

APPLESEED CAST “Sagarmatha” dbl LP Maroon with purple splatter
APPLESEED CAST ìMare Vitalisî dbl LP lt blue/white/black/gold vinyl
BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW “Drippers” 10″

I had actually re-ordered all of the Appleseed Cast vinyl through Graveface’s distro, but they seem to be out of many of their titles. Hopefully, they will get in more soon, but at least we have copies of the latest Appleseed Cast vinyl which looks amazing.

TP/PO: AUSTIN LUCAS/FRANK TURNER "Under the Influence Vol 8" 7"

AUSTIN LUCAS/FRANK TURNER “Under the Influence Vol 8″ 7″ both colors
AUSTIN LUCAS/FRANK TURNER “Under the Influence Vol 8″ 7″ Red/White color in color
AUSTIN LUCAS/FRANK TURNER “Under the Influence Vol 8″ 7″ White/Bllack half and half

We are excited to announce the eighth release of our Under the Influence series. The series finds bands we love recording songs that have influenced their song writing. The artwork is being done by the very talented Mitch Clem and Nation of Amanda who has been asked to make his own renditions of the album art that the song being covered originally appeared. For this eighth release, Austin Lucas is covering “To Daddy” by Dolly Parton and Frank Turner is covering “Thunder Road” by Bruce Springsteen. The 7″s will come with a coupon that will allow you to download the tracks as mp3s. The 7″ will be pressed as an edition of 1,000 copies.

300 on Red/White color in color
700 on White/Black half and half

The songs are up for streaming right now on our Under the Influence player. Check them out.

We expect records by the end of March. Test pressing winner will be announced around this time, too. Good luck.

Photos: The Swellers "My Everest"

I know that many of you have been asking, the day has arrived! We finally have copies of the Swellers vinyl and the crew are packing them as we speak. You might notice that the red does look red but the mixed are between the blue and purples you see below. Unfortunately, we have the blues and purples all set up as mixed so like our man Forrest Gump says, “Life (or in this case mixed colors) is like a box of chocolates…..”. Luckily, they will all sound equally great.

We got a few more copies than we thought we were getting so if you missed out on pre-ordering it, order it now!

Tim Barry,Austin Lucas,Josh Small Tour starts Friday

timbarry_party

I have been so excited about this tour ever since Tim told me that he was going to ask Austin and Josh to go out on tour with him, I can hardly believe that the tour begins on Friday. This is going to be a very special tour and I really hope everyone can make it out to at least one date. Tim will be supporting Manchester, Austin will be supporting his brand new album, Somebody Loves You, and Josh will be supporting Tall by Josh Small.

This tour, much like the Revival Tour, will see the artists not only playing their own sets, but joining each other for songs throughout the entire night. Most of us have seen Tim and Josh play together and some of us have seen Tim and Austin play together, but seeing all 3 guys on stage together will be a treat.
