Restocks: Lawrence Arms,Loved Ones,NOFX,D4,Propagandhi,Lagwagon,Dead to Me

Maybe someone can answer this for me. Was “Apathy and Exhaustion” by Lawrence Arms temporarily out of print? We haven’t had it in stock in what seems like forever and I wasn’t sure if that was a mistake on our part or if it was being repressed. Either case, we have it in stock. Make sure you pick up a copy. We also got in lots of great restocks from your favorite Fat artists.

Videos: Tim Barry w/ Josh Small and Austin Lucas at 3 Kings

I have been trying to post the videos we shoot a little at a time so they can be enjoyed a couple at a time. Here are two videos from Tim Barry’s set. If you have never been to a Tim Barry show, you are truly missing out. Tim has a connection with his fans unlike anyone I have ever seen. He shares stories, discusses what is going on, and just has a blast playing his songs. Every time I see Tim play, he inspires me to be active and unhook myself from my television set. Josh Small accompanied Tim through all of his set while Austin joined him for “Dog Bumped”. I don’t know how I managed to only capture songs from “Rivanna Junction”, but that is how it goes sometimes.

Tim Barry, Josh Small, and Austin Lucas are still touring together. Please make sure you make it out to a show and see everyone, they are all so incredible.

If you don’t have everything Tim Barry has put out, we have pretty much everything in print currently. You can find his available releases <a href=”http://stores.channeladvisor.com/vinylhome/Store/Search.aspx?&amp;Page=1&amp;Sort=1&amp;key=tim%20barry&amp;sku=sh”>here</a>.

Stay tuned late this week as I will be filming the Frank Turner, Look Mexico, Chad Price show this thursday night. I am so fucking stoked for the show.

Song of the Day: Horse Feathers "Curs in the Weeds"

Today’s installment of “Song of the Day” is brought to you by yours truly, Virgil Dickerson.

Ever have one of those Mondays where you go into work from a rather relaxing weekend, sit at your desk, and one by one, things continue to go wrong? It hasn’t been the worst Monday of my life, but today has been one of those days. I have so much on my plate from day to day and I have a list of things so long that I am kind of freaking out. When I begin to freak out, I need a mellow, relaxing album to listen to and lately, that album has been Horse Feathers “House With No Name”. This track, is the first song on the album and it really sets the tone of an amazing, beautiful record. Without comparing them to anyone in particular, this album doesn’t seem out of place on Kill Rock Stars if you consider their back catalog of Elliott Smith, Jeff Hanson, and the Decemberists.

I hope your Monday has been much better, but if it hasn’t for whatever reason, please listen to this song and check out this album. If I am in the right mood, this is the album I go to.

The album, “House With No Name” is available in the VC store, you can find it here.

The song, “Curs in the Weeds” is the 1st track off of “House With No Name”. You can download the song here.

As the Song of the Day continues, you can find past installments here. You will also notice that each week’s streaming player will have each Song of the Day added so that by week’s end, there will be 5 songs. We hope you like the track.

I know some of you have been wondering about the VC exclusive cover for the Orange O Pioneers “Neon Creeps”; well the day has come and trust me when I say that it will be worth the wait. Not only are the covers 3D (YES 3D!), they also glow in the dark. Talk about upping the ante; they are amazing.

Video: The Tale of Jon Snodgrass visitors band T-shirt

Suburban Home’s Ralph Eberhard explains how he came to design the T-shirt for Jon Snodgrass’ Visitor’s Band. We wanted to share with you how an initial idea and drawing by Jon came to be one of my favorite shirts. Check out the video and then pick up a shirt (which are now available individually)

Videos: Josh Small "15/20" and "Knife in my Belly"

Got to see Josh Small on Tuesday, March 24th during the Denver stop of the Tim Barry/Austin Lucas/Josh Small tour. Josh played an incredible set which included a few new songs as well as a number of songs from Josh’s album, “Tall”. I captured “15/20″, a brand new song that I am in love with. He also performed “Knife In My Belly” which included help from label mates, Austin Lucas and Tim Barry.

Go see this tour if it is coming to a town near you. Tim, Austin, and Josh were all amazing. And if you are not hip to what Josh Small does, the album we released, “Tall” is such a great record. And people are going to be blown away by his next album, the demos we have are phenomenal. You can download an mp3 from “Tall” here. The song is called “Move Your Hips”. Josh Small releases can be purchased in our store here. We only have 2 copies of the first pressing of the vinyl for Tall.

NineBullets.net review/stream Jon Snodgrass/Drag the River

ninebullets

Our kindred spirits/friends through music, Nine Bullets dot net, have always been big supporters of what we do. This week, they have been giving a lot of love for Suburban Home, Jon Snodgrass, and Drag the River. If you are not familiar with this site, it is my favorite Americana/Alt-Country blog.

They recently reviewed Jon Snodgrass’ debut album, “Visitor’s Band” and Drag the River’s latest collection, “Bad at Breaking Up”. After we were alerted to the Visitor’s Band review, I asked Brian if he would be into hosting full album streams for Jon and Drag which he gave a resounding, “Hell Yeah”. So below are links to read Nine Bullets thoughts on Visitor’s Band and Bad at Breaking up, and you can also stream both albums on their site.

Thanks Nine Bullets for always supporting our small label.
