GREEN DAY “21st Century Breakdown” LP PRE-ORDER

Green Day release yet another highly anticipated album, their follow up to American Idiot. Green Day are an anomaly (wrapped in a paradox), they continue to put out albums that are relevant and critically acclaimed and have managed to do so for over 15 years. With Green Day (as I mentioned with Rancid), I hold a soft spot in my heart for them. They were one of the first bands that got me excited about punk rock. My neighbors in the Engineering dorms (yes I started out as a Chemical Engineering major) all loved Green Day and let me borrow Kerplunk which I instantly loved. Those friends (who became the Fairlanes, a band we used to work with) also invited me to my first real punk rock show which was a Green Day tour with Tilt. The energy of the show had me hooked and I haven’t looked back since. I will admit that through Punk Rock guilt I found myself not following Green Day as closely as I should (I have since come back around and am listening to Green Day back-catalog with fresh ears).

Well, here is the pre-order for the new album. Even though the CD comes out next week (on 5/15), our distributors are saying the vinyl won’t be in til June 16th.
