Kid Dynamite is a band that I hold very dear and near to my heart. I had a mom and pop record store when the band released their first album. People were so fucking stoked. This was the first project to come out of the very sad demise of Lifetime. You had the hardcore foundation, the amazing guitar playing, and this project had Jason Shevchuk a somewhat unknown singer at the time. We all later found out that Jason had one of the strongest voices in melodic hardcore and Kid Dynamite went on to put out a number of great releases. I was lucky enough to see them twice. If I remember correctly, one show was with Sick of it All, Misfits, and Indecision. The other show was with Kill Your Idols. Both were amazing. The end of Kid Dynamite birthed Paint it Black, None More Black, and LaGrecia, but Kid Dynamite served to influence a new wave of hardcore and punk bands. Putting together a tribute comp is a labor of love and it so much work. I commend Black Numbers and Get Outta Town for putting this together. There are tons of great bands, and although I have only listened to this once, there were a number of standout tracks.
