TP/PO: JOSH SMALL "Tall by Josh Small" double LP frosty green vinyl

JOSH SMALL “Tall by Josh Small” double LP frosty green vinyl

I still remember the first time I saw Josh Small jamming in Jon Snodgrass’ garage with Jon and Tim Barry. I was blown away as he song parts of songs that would eventually make up “Tall”. And since the release of “Tall”, Josh has been keeping super busy. He has toured all over in support of this album and currently, he is on tour in Europe with Mike Hale and Austin Lucas. When he gets home, he will begin recording a new album and if the demos I have are any indication, this is going to be an incredible album.

When we first pressed “Tall”, we did a pressing of only 200 copies. We put it out not because we thought it would be a big seller, but because we loved the album and wanted to have a copy on wax. That first pressing sold out even at the really high price we had to set because of how small the pressing was. This new repress is out of an edition of 500 copies on Frosty Green Vinyl. We are splitting the pressing with our friends at Hometown Caravan so we will have 250 copies. The price has gone down and the color of vinyl should match the silk-screened jacket. Pre-order this album and enter for a chance to win a test pressing. Good luck.

If you missed out on the original pressing, no problem. You should make sure though that you get a copy of this pressing. Take a listen to the full album stream below and if you dig it, please share it with others. This is a beautiful album that sounds like it was made in the 70′s folk scene.

VINYL COMES WITH A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD COUPON AND WE SHOULD HAVE COPIES BY NEXT WEEK.

Got a number of amazing records yesterday including the first of the 4 In the Red Volume 1.5 7″s, the repress of Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground’s s/t double LP with a new Gatefold (courtesy of our own Ralph Eberhard), and the 3 colors of Lemuria / Off With Their Heads 7″. I should have pressed 3,000 copies because after we send 300 to distributors this record is out of print. Damn! Thanks for all of you who have been patient waiting for these pre-orders.

Introducing 2 for Tuesday, 2 records for the price of 1 (Snodgrass/Cape)

2 for Tuesday (Joey Cape “Bridge” LP and Jon Snodgrass “Visitor’s Band” LP) 2 for 1

We are excited to bring you a new idea from your friends at Vinyl Collective, 2 for Tuesdays. Every Tuesday, we will be doing our best to bring you 2 records for the price of 1. We know the economy has affected all of us vinyl collectors, we see it every day. Consider this idea our little contribution to the tough times we are all experiencing. Each week, we will announce a new 2 for Tuesday and the deal will be good for 1 week exactly. When a new one is announced, the old one will end. It could also end early if we sell out of the number of 2 for 1′s we have posted.

This first one celebrates the bond between Joey Cape and Jon Snodgrass. They have long been friends. Their bands have done splits together, and more times than I can think of they have played shows together. Actually the guys are on the road right now down in the South and by talking to Joey, they are having a good time on the road. This first ever 2 for Tuesday gets you both the Joey Cape “Bridge” LP and the Jon Snodgrass “Visitor’s Band” LP for $10.99. We have 30 sales posted. I highly recommend both albums. And if you are one of those folks who has a pre-order for the Jon Snodgrass/Cory Branan split LP, you can add it to this order by placing an order for this 2 for Tuesday deal and then emailing Andy at info at suburban home records dot com. He will combine the items and refund any extra shipping.

Help us make the 2 for Tuesday catch on. If you are a label looking to get rid of some overstock, get in touch.

We were gonna do an Austin Lucas/Mike Hale 2 for Tuesday along with the Snodgrass/Cape sale, but it looks like we are almost out of print on the “Somebody Loves You” vinyl. We have 30 copies left of the gold vinyl and are completely sold out of the red/black vinyl. Get a copy of that while you still can. It will be gone soon.

PO: LUCERO "Nobody's Darlings" LP 180 gram vinyl

LUCERO “Nobody’s Darlings” LP 180 gram vinyl

Sabot is on fire lately (and no I don’t mean they are flaming, not that there would be anything wrong with that). They released the None More Black Lp that people have been waiting on for quite some time, they are working on a Fake Problems / Ninja Gun split 7″, and they just repressed the Lucero “Nobodys Darlings” on 180 gram vinyl with news of pressing their entire back-catalog on vinyl in the not too distant future. “Nobodys Darlings” have been out of stock for a while now and I can’t wait to hear this record on 180 gram wax. Good work Sabot. And kudos to you for finally getting the Lucero camp to grant you the licenses to release their other albums on vinyl, something the world truly needs. God knows I’ve tried for years to acquire those licenses. I am just glad to have all of those albums on wax myself.

This is a pre-order, we will have copies by mid week next week.

When all of the albums are finally available again on vinyl, I am going to throw a party at 3 Kings Tavern and will play all the records from start to finish. First whiskey shot on me! We can all get Nicholed together!

TP/PO: TIGERS JAW "Spirit Desire" 7" purple vinyl

TIGERS JAW “Spirit Desire” 7″ purple vinyl
TIGERS JAW “Spirit Desire” 7″ yellow vinyl

Our good buddy Chuck from Beartrap Publicity who also does Tine Engines (responsible for putting out the amazing Look Mexico “Gasp Asp” 7″) is back with a new 7″ by Tigers Jaw. Here is what they have to say about the “Spirit Desire” 7″:

The next great chapter in the evolution of Tigers Jaw, Spirit Desire finds this young-yet-incredibly-accomplished band harnessing all the elements that made its 2008 Self-Titled full-length so unforgettable and improving on them tenfold. The buzz and scrawl of the the guitars, warm and fuzzy keys, penetrating melodies, contagious melodies and a slightly skewed, nostalgic take on indie rock and pop punk – it’s all still there, but the Scranton, P.A. quintet has tightened its songwriting chops and injected a touch of darkness, exhibiting a real skill for exploring new structures and dynamics. More importantly though, Tigers Jaw allows its compositions to develop organically with subtle restraint and a nod toward creating a palpable tension. There’s always a killer hook waiting around the corner on this amazing 7-inch – eager to knock you out and steal your heart – but it never fails to present itself in wonderful, unexpected ways. Spirit Desire doesn’t pulls its punches; it just keeps you guessing when and where those punches are going to land.

We will have a test pressing contest were 3 lucky individuals can each win a test pressing. We should have the copies in 3 to 4 weeks. And sooner than later, we will have a stream of the 4 songs.

Pressing is 150 on Purple, 300 on Yellow

Southern Lord News (Thou,Wino,Wolves in the Throne Room,Earth/Radio,Pelican)

EARTH/ RADIO “Live” LP
THOU “Tyrant” LP 180 gram vinyl
WINO “Punctuated Equilibrium” LP
WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM “Black Cascade” dbl LP

Everyone’s favorite metal label just sent us a few big boxes of wax. Besides, the list of releases you see above, we also got in 75 copies of Pelican’s new 12″, but we are waiting to sort out a few things with Southern Lord before shipping them. We were assured we would get a special edition colored version of “Ephemeral” but the copies we received are on black vinyl. They should be getting back to me shortly. Sorry about any confusion. Those wondering what color the above titles are, we are reluctant to open them because the packaging is insane.

Test Pressing Winners: Yesterdays Ring,Screeching Weasel,The Bananas

Mike Monaghan – YESTERDAY’S RING “Diamonds In The Ditch”
Justin Thompson – SCREECHING WEASEL “My Brain Hurts” LP

For those of you curious about our test pressing contests, when we announce a test pressing contest, you are automatically entered when you purchase the record. You don’t have to do anything else. TP/PO: BROADWAY CALLS "Good Views, Bad News" LP

BROADWAY CALLS “Good Views, Bad News” LP opaque green vinyl VC exclusive color
BROADWAY CALLS “Good Views, Bad News” LP black vinyl

I am so excited to be working with Side One on this pre-order. The upcoming Broadway Calls’ album is their best work yet. This album should catapult the band into that next level. Finally, they have a recording that captures the energy of their live show which if you haven’t seen yet is a show to watch. The songs are so good, the playing is fantastic, and the record just gets you fucking stoked. If you take anything I write to hear, it is that you need to pre-order this album. I guarantee that the record will be out of print and there will be people who end up paying way too much on ebay. We have a test pressing contest courtsey of the good folks at Side One Dummy. Pre-order this record and you will be automatically entered to win. One lucky purchaser of this record will have an extremely limited test pressing. Good luck.

Buy this record, you will be glad you did. Thanks Side One for always working with us on these killer pre-orders.
