THE PHOTO ATLAS "To Silently Provoke The Ghost" 7" clear vinyl

THE PHOTO ATLAS “To Silently Provoke The Ghost” 7″ clear vinyl

Great Denver, local act. This is their first vinyl release that I know of. Their previous releases have been on Stolen Transmissions and local label Morning After. I have seen these guys play a bunch and they always put on a great show. Their music has been compared to At the Drive In, but to me I would say more Hot Hot Heat and maybe later Q and Not U. Recommended. Pressing is out of 500 copies.

SUBURBAN HOSTAGE "Unified Theory of Critical Thinking" 7"

Suburban Hostage has returned with 4 new tracks of blistering, punk rock fury. Encapsulating both old school hardcore and technical, melodic punk, Unified Theory Of Critical Thinking is a must-have for people who like their lyrics political and their BPM’s at breakneck speed. These guys are a great Denver, local band.

The Haddonfields should be a must for any fan of pop punk today. The Haddonfields play an energetic pop-punk with influences such as Teenage Bottlerocket, The Dopamine’s, The Jetty Boys and all of the amazing 90’s Lookout! Records bands. Four singers! Yep, let me repeat that, four singers! Each member brings a unique sound and style into every song. The three songs that make up Tickets Still Available are just the first sample of things to come, with a 13 song LP coming out in November. This 7” is limited to 300 copies, 100 on black vinyl with a screen printed jacket and 200 on pink vinyl with a standard printed jacket. Also included is a digital download of the 7” tracks plus 3 songs from their forthcoming LP, We Are Not Alone.

Video: TWO COW GARAGE (micah) "American Static" [TCSG]

Two Cow Garage – “American Static” from TCSG on Vimeo.

ThuderClapSuperGenius do it again, this time spending time with the Suburban Home Tour. They captured videos of Two Cow (this one), Austin, and Mike Hale. This video is of a new song by Two Cow Garage front man, Micah Schnabel, and it fucking rules. I can only hope that this ends up on the next Two Cow Garage album. We are in the process of getting the audio from this and the other videos that TCSG have done and plan to share them with all of you as they all sound (and look) so fucking great.

And anytime Two Cow Garage is brought up, I have to ask the question, why the fuck are these guys not bigger? Seriously? Please do me a favor. If you count yourself as a fan of Two Cow Garage, tell 2 people about them. And bring them to see Two Cow the next time they play your town. They are so bad ass live and need to be experienced live. Here is a full album stream of their latest album, “Speaking in Cursive”; if you don’t own this album, shame on you. Take a listen and please help spread the word.

JAWBOX “For Your Own Special Sweetheart” LP
FUGAZI “Furniture” 7″
FUGAZI “Margin Walker” LP
GRAY MATTER “Food For Thought” LP color vinyl

Dischord have been doing an outstanding job re-issuing so many of their classic records. I am most excited for this Jawbox record. If you don’t already own this or any of the Fugazi/Minor Threat/Rites of Spring reissues, you should try to pick them all up. What a great label.
