Vinyl Collective

We have a number of artists starting tours this next week so I decided to put them all into one handy dandy post. Micah Schnabel is about to head off on a solo tour that will come through the Midwest, down south, and hit back up the East; Austin Lucas and Mike Hale will be touring around the Midwest and down the East hitting a number of House shows; and Drag the River are off to tour Europe with Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves.

Yesterday, we received a few boxes that included our first ever Drag the River hoodie, gloves, and shot glasses. These items were available as part of a special Drag the River “Primer” deluxe set. If you pre-ordered it, your deluxe sets will be sent out today. If you didn’t and are looking for pretty much the best Drag the River Christmas present, look no further. We only have around 12 deluxe sets left. For those of you who wanted to buy the Hoodie on its own, your requests have been honored, but do act fast. We only have around 10 Hoodies available individually. We may make more, but we won’t make more until after the holidays.

The hoodies are warm and heavy duty. The gloves are pretty funny; Wade (pictured) even volunteered to have Andy punch him in the face to test the new gloves out; what a good sport. The gloves are only available as part of our deluxe set or from Drag the River’s upcoming tours. The shot glasses, as we have tested for quality control, also work really well.

If you are looking for a good Drag the River related gift and you don’t have enough to spend on one of our deluxe sets, get a couple copies of “Primer”. Those friends who are not well versed on the beauty that is Drag the River will be so thankful for such an incredible mix tape of Drag the River tracks from all of their releases. Only 1,000 were pressed and we expect these all to be gone sometime in early 2010.

Well, I don’t know how many times I can state that Razorcake is the greatest zine on the planet, but I figured I would put my money where my mouth is and do something I should have done long ago. From now on, each issue of Razorcake will be free while supplies last with any Purchase. And since we have copies of issues #48 through #53, if you act quickly, you can get a copy of each issue. Only 1 copy of each issue per person, but if you are quick enough, you can get 6 issues. I highly recommend you pick up issue #53 which has the first part of a 2 part feature on the downfall of Lumberjack Mordam. It also has features on Good Luck and Rvivr. Buy anything in our store and add an issue or two or 6 to your cart for free.

We pay $1 per issue so we figured that if we can help find new homes for Razorcake, it is well worth the $1 per issue we spend. Please consider subscribing to the magazine and picking it up when you see it in a record store or newstand.

We finally got in the pressing for the Austin Lucas/Takers and the In the Red Volume 1.5.2. I apologize at how long this has taken to come out. Thanks for everyone’s patience. For those wondering, it looks like we will finally get the Wayword Sons/Sam Lowry split in time for Christmas. Thanks

We also got in a bunch more Chuck Ragan vinyl for those of you that have been waiting on the Daytrotter 10″, we now have them in along with the 7″ picture disc that came with Side One CD pre-orders, and 2 more colors of the Chuck/Brian split 7″.

I will admit that we are not the most on top of things, but better late than never as they always say. We have 50 copies of the Bouncing Souls 20th Anniversary Series Volume 4 7″ coming in early next week and with that order, I have 15 more of 1, 2, and 3 coming in. Word has it that the retail versions of the earlier volumes are getting close to being out of print. If you have been slacking on getting these records, do so before the end of the year as I expect at least a few of them will be out of print by 2010. While you are thinking about how great Bouncing Souls are, make sure you check out the other releases we have in stock. Take a close look at the split with Anti-Flag as I was also told that these are some of the final copies on colored vinyl for this split. And lastly, make sure you already own Maniacal Laughter and The Good, the Bad, the Argyle, my favorite Souls records. Congrats Bouncing Souls on 20 years, here’s hoping for another 20 years of great punk rock.
