Archive for December, 2009

Our good friends at Nine Bullets dot net recently posted their year end lists for their favorite records in 2009 and I am proud to say that a number of our releases made their lists. Not only did Micah Schnabel’s “When the Stage Light Goes Dim” make the number 1 spot on both Bryan and Romeo’s top lists, but a number of our other releases made their lists. Thanks gentelman for all the support in 2009; here’s to a kick ass 2010. Bryan, expect the new Tim Barry promo very soon!

I highly recommend checking out their year end lists as there are a lot of great records featured. It is an honor for our releases to show up next to so many great records.

Bryan also posted a December podcast featuring some of his favorite songs of 2009. Alongside tracks by Micah, Tim, The Takers, there are a few of my favorites like Have Gun Will Travel, Michael Dean Damron, and more.

NINEBULLETS.NET DECEMBER PODCAST: SOME OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EDITION

MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK / LIMBECK split 7″

One of our distributors asked us why we never ordered copies of the MCD/Limbeck 7″ from them; I had thought the record was out of print. I just picked up the last copies of a pressing of 1,000 copies. I am sure these will go fast as we only have 30 copies coming in. If you ever missed out on this originally, get one now. And while you are at it, make sure you pick up the LImbeck S/t LP as it is nearly out of print.

Track Listing:
01 – The Sun Woke Up The Whole State (Limbeck Cover)
02 – Perfect Teeth (Motion City Soundtrack Cover)

we should have these in stock when we get back into the office the first week of January.

The Mariachi El Bronx record has been selling really well ever since we got word that the records are in stock. I am gonna try and get more copies so check back soon and hopefully I will get some good news. The Drag the River / Chris Wollard split continues to sell and will soon be gone, get yours while you can. The Hot Snakes vinyl has been going pretty well so far, make sure you get one before they are all sold out. This one won’t be repressed any time soon. Get Appleseed Cast End of Ring Wars while you can. This pressing is nearly sold out and we only have a few copies left.

It isn’t too late to purchase a gift certificate for a loved one for the holidays. I will be able to send them out as pdfs today and part of tomorrow. Just remember to email me the recipient and who it is from. We still have discounted Gift Certificates, the $50 GC is $40, the $100 GC is $80.

And note that the 12 days of Xmas sales will end on December 26th. Take advantage of all of the great deals while they are still available.

Happy holidays everyone.

HOT SNAKES “Suicide Invoice” LP repress

Hot Snakes’ second LP has been repressed. Don’t expect these to last very long. If you missed this one the first time around, this record is essential as are all of the Hot Snakes’ catalog. Here’s hoping the other records get repressed. I was told that these are on black vinyl. And since we are not in the office til early January, these records won’t ship til then.

I know I said we wouldn’t be working, but I was so excited to post this record.

MARIACHI EL BRONX “S/T” LP

After posting the photo of the Mariachi El Bronx record and saying that they were shipping now, we sold out of the remaining copies in our store. I emailed our distributor who said they could send us another 50 copies, but I warn you, this might be the last time we get copies. The distributor said they got in 600 copies and had already shipped out 450 copies in one week. If you don’t get it from us today or luckily find it in a store near you, I fear this might be out of print before 2010. Good luck.

One word of warning, this will not ship until the first week of January. We are taking a much needed break and plan to do a lot of nothing. We might do an inventory next week but other than that, we are not doing shit. Happy holidays everyone.

We just got in the Import 7″ of Drag the River and Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves. They look very sharp and the 7″ jackets are pretty heavy duty. We got 200 in and have 70 left. I recommend picking up one sooner than later. If you pre-ordered the 7″, it should go out in today’s mail. Remember that when you order the 7″, you will be sent a digital download code to download all 4 songs. Stream those tracks in our streaming player found below.

V/A “Protect 2″ CD FREE WITH ANY PURCHASE

Our friends at Scissor Press and Geykido Comet just released the 2nd volume of Protect, a compilation benefiting the National Association to Protect Children. With the spirit of the holidays, we decided that we would give the copies we purchased away for FREE. All we ask is that you please purchase something when adding this to your cart. We only have 29 copies left and expect them to go pretty fast. Only 1 copy per person please.

And we ask that whether you pick up a copy for free or not, you please consider donating a few dollars to Protect. Just visit Protect.org for more information.

What you are seeing is not an illusion. After a long wait, the records finally arrived today and the guys are packaging them up as we speak. I already gave the record a spin and it sounds even better on wax. If you have not pre-ordered this, we have 20 copies left and I expect they will be gone soon. Get this record. It is one of my favorites of 2009.
