Alternative Press streaming TIM BARRY's "Prosser's Gabriel" / Q & A

Alternative Press recently did a Q & A with Tim Barry and to go along with the feature, they have posted an exclusive stream of “Prosser’s Gabriel”, a track from the upcoming album by Tim Barry, “28th & Stonewall”. Follow the link, check out the interview, and be sure to listen to the song. It is such a powerful song. If you haven’t seen Tim play the song live, it is truly amazing.

TIM BARRY "28th & Stonewall" LP test pressing for Haiti Relief

Tim Barry - 28th & Stonewall Test Pressing

Punknews.org and Paper + Plastick have teamed up to auction off some great stuff for the Haiti disaster relief effort. This auction is verified by Limited Pressing and all proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.

Justin from Punknews asked if wanted to donate any test pressings for their Haiti Disaster Relief Effort and it just so happened that we had a few test pressings arrive recently. First up is the Tim Barry “28th & Stonewall” test pressing photographed above. You can bid on this test pressing on Limited Pressing through this link.

There have been a lot of good folks contributing to this relief effort. There are test pressings by Less Than Jake, Cheap Girls, Defeater, Moral Crux, Red Collar, Frank Turner, Lifetime, Fun, Fall Out Boy, Broadway Calls, and lots more. Check them out here.

I suspect some of these test pressings will fetch a pretty penny. You can still contribute to Haiti relief through any number of benefits. Google has set up a page featuring a number of great Haiti Relief Efforts.

Thanks Justin and Punknews for having us involved. We are working out the details, but we will also be donating a test pressing for Poison the Well “The Tropic Rot” and Look Mexico “You Go. I Stay. No Following”.  Expect news of that soon.

More VAMPIRE WEEKEND "Contra" LP 180-gram vinyl

VAMPIRE WEEKEND “Contra” LP 180-gram vinyl

We sold out of our first allotment of Vampire Weekend’s new album. I have more copies coming in early next week. Reserve your copy by placing an order.

What’s everyone think of “Contra”? I like it but I loved the first album so much. It is hard to compare to their debut. It may grow on me more the more I listen though.

PO: FUCKED UP "Couple Tracks, Singles 2002-2009" dbl LP w/ FREE 7"

FUCKED UP “Couple Tracks, Singles 2002-2009″ dbl LP

2 LP compilation of Fucked Up’s many, many hard-to-find uncollected 7″ and 12″ tracks. Entitled Couple Tracks, it contains 25 songs. Couple Tracks spans an extraordinarily varied (and extraordinarily collectible) musical career that has mainly been documented on 7” singles released around the world on many labels in many countries. Chronologically, it ranges from the A-side of their first single, “No Pasarán,” a commentary on the Spanish Civil War released on Deranged in 2002, to the fast alternate take of “No Epiphany,” their most recent 7″ on Matador. All songs on full-length CD and LP for the first time! Including 5 totally unreleased tracks.

Matador is offering a free single for Pre-orders of “Couple Tracks”, but right now, we are not guaranteed of getting them. There is a good chance we will and if we do, we will include it in your pre-order for FREE. The 7″ is limited to 2,000 copies, is called “Couple Tracks”, and the A-side is a song about record collecting (not sure if they are in favor of collecting vinyl or not though).

Do yourself a big favor and pre-order this immediately if you are interested in getting the FREE 7″ single.

We should have copies in hand next week.

LOOK MEXICO Stream "You Stay. I Go. No Following" on AP.net, Update on Pre-order

Visit Absolutepunk.net to listen to Look Mexico’s first single, “You Stay. I Go. No Following”. The single is taken from the band’s debut full length for Suburban Home Records, “To Bed to Battle” which will be out on 3/23/2010. The track features their good buddy, Frank Turner, on guest vocals, and gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect from their upcoming album.

The Pre-order for 7″ w/ digital download and T-shirt w/ digital download will be posted on Thursday, January 21st at 2pm MST. After talking it over with the band, we have decided that you won’t have to wait for the digital download. Shortly after you place your pre-order, you will receive an email with a link and accompanying code to download the 2 tracks on this single, “You Stay. I Go. No Following.” and the B-side, an acoustic version of “They Only Take the Back Roads”.

The 7″ is extremely limited: 300 on blue vinyl with silk-screened covers (hand #d, printed by Dustin Garret) and 300 on black vinyl with printed covers. The T-shirt will feature similar art to the 7″ art. The official release date for the 7″ is 2/23/2010, but we will ship them out in early February to those who pre-order the record.

Please listen to the track and let us know what you think.

January Suburban Home Buddy of the Month – Kyle Betts

I am proud to bring you our first Suburban Home Buddy of the Month of 2010, Kyle Betts. Kyle lives in Ontario, Canada, and I can’t remember when we first started talking; I just know that Kyle has been a big Suburban Home supporter ordering many of our releases throughout the years. We hadn’t heard from him in a while until we got an email around the holidays. The email said that he had been unable to afford to keep up with buying records over the past year but that he now had a gift card and wanted to catch up on our releases. The email got me thinking about how much Kyle has supported our little label over the years and I figured he would make a suitable candidate for our Buddy of the Month.

Thanks Kyle for taking the time to answer our questions and thanks for having supported what we do over the years.

Please click the link to read on about Kyle’s favorite Suburban Home artists/releases, his favorite non-suburban home artists, suggestions for bands we should sign and things we should do.
