TIM BARRY “28th & Stonewall” LP Black w/ White and Grey Vinyl

Intended only to be available with deluxe sets for “28th & Stonewall”, we were asked by a number of individuals whether or not we could offer the shirts by themselves. The black T-shirt borrows a line from the Tim Barry song, “Thing of the Past” and is perfect for Tim Barry fans or folks who just like to Raise Hell and Live Cheap. Get one while you can. Shirts are printed on Gildan, available in Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL, and XXXL.

The T-shirt is also available as part of our deluxe set which includes “28th & Stonewall” on LP and CD, a Raising Hell / Living Cheap Pint Glass, T-shirt, Coozie, and Button, and an album poster. We have less than 20 deluxe sets left.

And I know that every week, I say that the colored vinyl of “28th & Stonewall” is nearly out of print. We only have 6 copies remaining in our store. When we run out, know that Tim Barry will have the last copies on colored vinyl on the tour he is on now.

PO: THE MARS VOLTA "Frances the Mute" 3xLP Original Pressing on GSL

THE MARS VOLTA “Frances the Mute” triple LP (original pressing)

We got word that we will have a handful of copies of “Frances the Mute” triple LP next week. I wouldn’t wait too long on these as I am pretty sure this GSL pressing is out of print and we don’t have many copies coming in. This album is no longer in print and was released by Gold Standard Labs in 2005. The set includes a beautiful gatefold jacket and 3 black LPs.

Pre-order Announced: MICAH SCHNABEL "When the Stage Light Goes Dim"

On Wednesday, February 24th at 2pm MST, we will be posting the pre-order for Micah Scnhabel’s debut album, “When the Stage Light Goes Dim”. The album was originally pressed by Micah’s father, John, in a really small pressing (only 500 copies). The pressing quickly sold out and I asked if Micah and John would be ok with Suburban Home re-releasing the album. Luckily, they said yes. Brandon Proff (of Suburban Home) put together new artwork for the album and we are putting the album out on vinyl. The album will be pressed on LP, CD, and available as a deluxe set with LP, CD, Poster, Pint Glass, Coozie, and Button. The vinyl will be pressed in an edition of 1,000 copies (500 on Green w/ White vinyl (minty green), 500 on black vinyl). After the first pressing sells out, we will press all future pressings on black vinyl.

If you picked up a copy of our 2nd Suburban Home mix tape, you had the opportunity to hear 2 songs from Micah’s album. The album surpassed every expectation I had for the album and I was expecting great things from the Two Cow Garage front man. I had the opportunity to see Micah perform solo and he absolutely rocks live which isn’t too shocking if you had ever seen Two Cow Garage live. In between recording sessions for a brand new Two Cow Garage album, Micah will be doing dates around the U.S. to promote the album. We are about to announce a tour we are really excited about involving Mr Schnabel. Do not miss these shows. Here is a video shot of Micah performing “American Static”.

Pre-order announced: ROCKY VOTOLATO / CHAD PRICE split 7"

On Wednesday, February 24th at 2pm MST, we will be posting the pre-order for the Chad Price / Rocky Votolato split 7″. Originally intended to be an under the influence 7″, it was later suggested that we release a split 7″ featuring a track from Chad Price’s most recent album, “Smile Sweet Face” as Rocky Votolato is a huge fan of the track, “This Cross”. Rocky contributed the original and exclusive track, “Transparent” to round out the split 7″. We were set to go as is, but when Rocky was in town, I asked if he would be into covering a song by Chad and having Chad cover a song by Rocky. Both agreed. Rocky recorded a cover of the Drag the River track, “Best & Worst”, a song that Chad Price sings from the “Garage Rock” 7″ and “Bad at Breaking Up” collection CD. Chad recorded a cover of the Rocky Votolato track, “Silver Trees” from “The Brag and Cuss”.

The 7″ will be pressed in an edition of 1,000 copies, 500 on transparent blue and all other pressings will be on black vinyl, starting with 500 on black. The 7″ will be bundled with an mp3 coupon. We are planning to release the 7″ on March 16th, 2010, but we should have them sooner, more like the first week of March. It is an honor to be doing this split 7″.

Track Listing:
1. This Cross
2. Silver Trees
3. Transparent
4. Best & Worst

Almost Out of Print: GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV "This Empty Northern Hemisphere" LP brown vinyl

GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV “This Empty Northern Hemisphere” LP brown vinyl

Not exactly surprised, today, I share with you news that Gregory Alan Isakov’s vinyl release of “This Empty Northern Hemisphere” is nearly out of print. The 500 piece pressing on brown vinyl was co-released with Gregory. I just did a count and we have 14 copies remaining of our half of the pressing. I gave Greg the last 20 copies of their half of the pressing so find him out on tour and you can still find a copy.

If you haven’t listened to “This Empty Northern Hemisphere”, there is a reason why people have been getting so excited about this album. The album is fantastic from start to finish and I can’t recommend it enough if you are a fan of Folk/Indie Rock as Greg’s music falls in between Rocky Votolato, Iron and Wine, and you can tell that he spent some time listening to folks like Dylan and Springsteen. PO: JAPANTHER "Rock N Roll Ice Cream" LP

JAPANTHER “Rock N Roll Ice Cream” LP

The story behind Rock ‘n’ Roll Ice Cream is an adventure tale of exploring harmonies, writing together, and a little bit of that West Coast surf vibe whilst lurking a bit towards Japanther’s salad days in Brooklyn to draw on pop hooks and simple drum parts that make skating seem easier and bikes move faster.

PO: JAGUAR LOVE "Hologram Jams" LP

JAGUAR LOVE “Hologram Jams” LP

The duo, Jaguar Love is comprised of ex-Blood Brothers Johnny Whitney (vocals, piano) and Cody Votolato (guitar, bass). Having already caught the eye of Queens of the Stone Age, who took them on tour last year, Jaguar Love has since inspired Matador Records, who released an album and an EP, as well as Fat Possum Records, who have signed them to a worldwide deal. This, their sophomore release Hologram Jams is produced by John Goodmanson.

We will have vinyl by March 9th.
