PO: JACK PALANCE BAND- "Get This Shit Underway" LP

JACK PALANCE BAND- “Get This Shit Underway” LP

From Dead Broke: “Finally! An LP release of one of the greatest punk records ever made. Chattanooga Region Rock Punk with gut-wrenching hooks & lyrics. Pre-Hidden Spots & Future Virgins. 400 ON BLACK, 100 ON PINK VINYL.” (Dead Broke is co-releasing this with A.D.D. Records).

While I might not go so far as to say that this is one of the greatest punk records ever made, I will agree that these guys were great and who knows with the right set of circumstances and luck, they would have probably been mentioned in the same way that Dillinger Four or Leatherface is mentioned. ADD originally released this album on CD and at the time, the band was pretty active and helped foster a pretty strong punk scene in their home town. I haven’t really kept up with the Jack Palance Band, but I have heard that some of the guys are still rocking in other bands.

If you havent heard this band you need to NOW, visit their myspace page. We should have vinyl in March. (I recommend trying to get the pink vinyl /100 through Dead Broke or ADD).

Stream 4 songs from YESTERDAY'S RING "Chasers"

Last week, we got an email from Hugo regarding an LP that they were self-releasing and we were so excited about the release, we asked if we could sell it in the Vinyl Collective Store. Fast forward less than one week and we are nearly sold out of the Green vinyl of “Chasers”. Currently, we have 3 copies left. We asked if we could stream some songs from the release and we just got final versions of 4 songs including their cover of Against Me “Sink Florida Sink”. I love the entire release and encourage everyone to pick up this album. Not only is the record a 9 song LP, but it has an mp3 coupon that will enable you to download the 9 songs on the LP and 10 bonus live, rare, hard to find tracks. We should the vinyl in March.

SUBURBAN HOME RECORDS Mix Tape Volume 2 “Greetings From The Left Coast” CD (5 Copies for FREE)

We got in the booklets for Suburban Home Records Mix Tape Volume 2, “Greetings From the Left Coast” and they turned out really, really nice. This time around, we went with a 4 panel folder which features the cover art you see above on the front, the track listing on the back, and when you open up the folder, there is a really good interview with Micah Schnabel. Micah answers questions about putting out a solo album, some of the songs on his upcoming album, and Two Cow Garage’s future. If you didn’t already know, this Mix Tape was inspired by our releasing Micah’s album, “When the Stage Light Goes Dim” and features 2 songs from his record, a live Two Cow Garage cover of the Beatles, a song from Two Cow’s latest album, Jon Snodgrass’ song with Two Cow, and a bunch of Suburban Home and non-Suburban Home tracks that we thought would fit well with a Micah inspired Mix Tape. 20 tracks in all.

If you pre-ordered the Mix Tape, we will be sending 5 to you this week. If you haven’t pre-ordered the Mix Tape, you can order it now. We don’t have many left after the pre-orders are sent so make sure you pick one up this week. We send 5 to each person with the idea that each recipient keeps one mix tape and gives 4 to friends. We appreciate the help in spreading the music we love. Thank you.

Did you pick up a copy of our first mix tape? What did you think? Did you find any new artists that caught your ear? For our 3rd Mix Tape, Look Mexico selected the songs with us adding a few Suburban Home tracks to the mix. Expect news on that one soon.

Thanks to Brandon and Andy for being such excellent hand models. I think the guys have a bright future in hand modeling.

I know that since Kill Rock Stars moved distributors the cost of the LP is higher. $9.99 is not a bad price for such a great LP.
