LOOK MEXICO "To Bed to Battle" Charts on Billboard Soundscan Charts

We could not be happier to share with you that we just found out that Look Mexico’s debut album for Suburban Home, “To Bed to Battle” charted on the Billboard Soundscan Charts. The album appeared on 2 charts:

#44 on Alternative New Artist Albums Chart
#129 on Top New Artist Albums Chart

Congratulations Look Mexico. Thanks for putting your album on our small, indie label.

If you haven’t checked out Look Mexico’s new album, what are you waiting for? You can find it digitally pretty much everywhere, you can purchase CD, LP and digital directly from us, and you should be able to find it in most indie stores. If an indie store doesn’t have it, ask them to carry it please. Thanks.

FREE SHIT (EVERY PURCHASE WILL GET AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF FREE SHIT)

FREE SHIT (EVERY PURCHASE WILL GET AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF FREE SHIT)

Much like Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion: To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction, we at Vinyl Collective / Suburban Home are offering an equal amount of FREE SHIT for your purchases over the weekend.

This offer is good while supplies last, but we do have a lot of potential free shit. Buy 5 LPs, get 5 LPs for free (of our choice). Buy 3 CDs, get 3 CDs for free (of our choice). We will do our best to match your purchase with an equal and opposite amount of free shit.

Next week, we will be moving out of our warehouse space, a space we have occupied for 2 years now. It’s been a great space, but it is time to move on. As you might imagine, we have a lot of inventory and we really aren’t looking forward to the move. To make our move a slight bit easier, we have been returning a lot of our unsold stock back to their respective labels and distros. Some of these labels asked us to give a number of their records away for FREE as an alternative to returning their stock. Thus, FREE SHIT was born.

Help us make our move easier, help your record collection with free records and other goodies. Everyone Wins.

While it is a little difficult to tell which color is which, the booklet that accompanies the vinyl is really, really cool. It is a 8 page booklet with lyrics and images. Very nice.

We have a few left of each color so if you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, do so now.

I like this new album a lot; my favorite of his since “Makers”. How about you?

We just got a box of 25 copies of the new Razorcake issue #55 and you can add it to any order for FREE. Well, it is a penny, but that is because our store won’t allow us to give anything for free. Pick up one of the longest running zines on the planet.

Interviews: Band on Band: Fake Problems / Ninja Gun [Punknews.org]

I put off reading this interview until today and as I suspected, the interview is ridiculously funny. For those of you who know, Suburban Home’s Ninja Gun and Side One’s Side One Dummy are buds. They did a split 7″ together, they did a tour that got cut short together, and as you can read from this interview, they are good at giving each other a few jabs. I highly suggest you read the interview. And while you are at it, you should seriously consider picking up anything and everything by both bands.

Ninja Gun are currently on tour in Europe (yes that Europe) still supporting their incredible Suburban Home debut, Restless Rubes.

Fake Problems are working on a new album and if I heard correctly are going out on this year’s Warped Tour.

Spend 5 minutes and read this interview, they discuss things like From First to Last, who would win in a fight between Jordan from Sabot and myself, Burmese Pythons, choice of underwear, and everything but each other’s music.

Press: Tim Barry is a simple kind of man [The Onion's AV Club]

The Onion’s AV Club caught up with Tim Barry recently. The feature discusses why Tim discusses his songs during his live performances, his living in a shed, Tim’s favorite songwriters, Twitter, and more.

Read the interview here.

Tim Barry is currently out on tour supporting his latest album, “28th & Stonewall”. I am so excited to see him play on Friday, March 26th in Denver, Colorado.

We just got these in and I am about to put my copy on the record player. I am so excited. We have copies on clear vinyl. Word on the street is that Hot Topic has an exclusive color (can’t remember what color that is though).

We have a few more copies of this album in our store. Get one while you can.

Copies will begin to ship out tomorrow. Not sure if you saw, but we got hit with a pretty gnarly snow storm that killed our power til just now. We also ordered copies of the CD, but for some reason didn’t get any. I should have the cds by early next week.
