Most T-shirts are only $5.00 (sale ends in one week)

Help us clear out all of our shirts at a price that you can’t beat, $5.00 each. We have a number of Suburban Home t-shirts as well as a bunch of American Apparel t’s. We didn’t discount a few of our shirts like recent shirts by Tim Barry, Look Mexico, and our Indpendent Music/Craft Beer shirts, but we discounted pretty much everything else.

VINYL COLLECTIVE'S Craziest Sale Ever happens NOW!

While we prepare to announce some really big news concerning the next chapter of Vinyl Collective, we would like to offer one final sale to end all sales. We recently moved and one thing that we realized was that we still have way too many records, shirts, CDs, etc. In order to remedy this problem, we have put T-shirts at $5.00, we discounted most non-exclusive vinyl at 50 percent off of their original retail prices, and for one more week, we will continue to sell most Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective releases at our wholesale prices.

The sale begins now and will end one week from today. I will be posting 3 separate posts with lists of what is on sale for Non-Exclusive releases, T-shirts, and Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective releases.

Many of the titles we have for sale, we only have 1 or 2 copies available so please take a good look at these lists and know that many of the titles won’t last.

Thanks.

Warehouse Find: LAGRECIA "On Parallels" silk-screened poster (hand #d)

LAGRECIA “On Parallels” silk-screened poster (hand #d)

In the process of moving, we found a number of items that we had forgotten we had. This silk-screened poster that originally came with the deluxe set of LaGrecia’s On Parallel, we found 8 remaining silk-screen posters. The artwork is beautiful, the printing is flawless, the posters will be sent in poster tubes. The posters are hand-numbered out of an edition of 155. Artwork by Sal (of LaGrecia).

I was just listening to this record the other day and it really bummed me out that they broke up before we ever put out the album. Such a great album.

Tour: NINJA GUN touring with LEATHERFACE, YOUNG LIVERS

As our good friends from Valdosta, Georgia, finish up the final dates on their European tour, it has just been announced that Ninja Gun will be supporting the legendary Leatherface on dates throughout the United States. Not only am I stoked to see that the tour will be coming through Denver (correct me if I am wrong, but it has been a very long time since Leatherface played Denver), but Ninja Gun will be playing Rad Fest and Chaos in Tejas on this tour, too. I am also excited to be seeing Young Livers again who are a fantastic band on No Idea.

If this tour is coming through a town near you, please mark this date on your calendar. What a great tour.

Photos: MURDER BY DEATH "Good Morning, Magpie" (Fancy and Simple editions)

You have to laugh when the simple version of a release is a pressing on 200 gram colored vinyl in a full color inner sleeve. While I do agree that the fancy version is indeed fancy, the simple version looks and sounds fantastic. Let’s start with the photos of the fancy version: Gatefold jacket with glued 10 page booklet, a fold out poster of a fantastic photo of the entire band, a sticker, a feather, and a pressing on 200 gram blue vinyl. I almost forgot to add that the LP jacket is embossed. Yes, the record was expensive, but I could not even begin to imagine the cost of this pressing. The simple version is in a standard LP jacket, has a full color inner sleeve, and the vinyl is pressed on 200 gram orange vinyl.

The fancy version is sold out through Vinyl Collective, but we still have copies of the Simple version. If you pre-ordered the fancy version, your copies have already been shipped. The simple version will begin shipping tomorrow.

Kudos to Murder by Death for always paying close attention to every detail with their vinyl releases. Not sure if everyone knows, but Murder by Death self-releases all of their vinyl.

What’s everyone think of the album so far? I have only listened to it a few times, but I am really digging what I hear.

Photo: LEATHERFACE / YESTERDAY'S RING split 7"

These showed up yesterday and will start shipping tomorrow. If you missed out on getting a copy, i am very sorry. We only ended up getting 32 copies to sale and I had to keep one (I kept #188 out of 500). The 7″s are super D.I.Y. with silk-screened labels and dust sleeves. The songs are fantastic.

Food for thought: I am trying to convince Hugo from Yesterday’s Ring to repress this record in a regular 7″ sleeve. It would be great as it is quite the injustice that this record was only pressed in an edition of 500 copies and is pretty much already out of print. Stay tuned.

Photos: THE GET UP KIDS "Simple Science" LPs

It’s really amazing how well all the vinyl matches the artwork for the record. We will be able to see the records first had today when Simple Psyence hand-delivers the records to us. Spoke to them last night and they were in New Mexico. Should see them around noon today. We still have copies of our exclusive color, but they are going quickly. We still have a handful of the 180 gram black vinyl, but we are now out of green. The pink vinyl will only be available at Hot Topic. We will be sending them copies to arrive by April 16th and they will need their time to get them into their stores. Only 500 pressed of each color and they will go out of print.

KYLE O' QUIN from Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground finishes debut album, tours with Let's Get Lost

Kyle O’ Quin from Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground recently finished recording his debut, solo album and let me just say that I haven’t stopped listening to the album since Kyle sent it to me a few weeks ago. Kyle said of the album, “I’ve been meaning to record an Elliott Smith style record where I play everything for awhile and I finally got around it.” The record is fantastic and if all goes well, we will be putting out the album on Suburban Home. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can check out the tunes at Kyle’s Myspace page. The songs are unmastered, but you get the idea. And take a gander at the dates listed below as Kyle is on tour with Seattle’s Let’s Get Lost, a band that Kyle and Phil from Kay Kay recently recorded and produced and if I might say so, are definitely worth checking out. So listen to both artists and then come out to one of the following shows if the tour comes to a town near you.
