Vinyl Collective

I hope everyone understands that we made the decision to take 3 days off after what was one of the longest weeks of my life. I worked day and night from Sunday through Thursday in an effort to tie up some loose ends, pack everything up, give stuff away, send out orders, and make our big move. Without boring you with every single detail, I will say that on Thursday night, we were out rolling out of our storage space at 8:43 pm (the gates automatically lock at 8:45 pm). I had a beer in hand and food on the way at a local watering hole at 8:56 pm. We all worked about as hard as a small group of people can work and all took Friday off and did our best to do nothing the entire weekend. I got a massage on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend with my family who were neglected all week long.

We will begin shipping orders again tomorrow, but bare with us as we still have a lot of work to do putting things on shelves, rearranging things, and all the normal odds and ends associated with moving. I do want to offer a few updates on Pre-orders, Free Shit, and the like:

• FREE SHIT – according to our store, we still have 16 “items” called FREE SHIT. We still have a lot of free shit to send out so make sure you are one of those 16 orders getting our FREE SHIT. There are a lot of good records and other items and we will do our best to match everything you order with an equal amount of FREE SHIT.
• THE GET UP KIDS “Simple Science” LP pre-orders – Simple Psyence, based in Arizona began the long drive to Colorado yesterday to hand-deliver the records. We will have them either late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Depending on when they arrive, we will begin shipping records out the following day. I can’t wait to see them.
• MURDER BY DEATH “Good Morning, Magpie” LP pre-orders – on Thursday as we were moving out, we received a shipment from Murder by Death which I can only assume is the new album. We didn’t have time to check them in but will do so today. If I remember correctly, we might have only received the simple version, but will have the fancy version soon after.
• Rocky Votolato / Chad Price split 7″ – These will be shipping to us any day now. If they ship by tomorrow, we will have them by Friday. If they ship on Wednesday, we will have them on Monday. In either case, those pre-orders will ship shortly.
• I was asked via email if we were going out of business, I can say with certainty that this is not the case. We are about to make a really big announcement about the next chapter of Vinyl Collective and until that happens, we can’t really discuss it. Stay tuned; we are all excited.
