DEBUT OF THE BRAND NEW TWO COW GARAGE SONG: MY GREAT GATSBY [Nine Bullets]

Nine Bullets have posted an mp3 from Two Cow Garage’s latest album, “Sweet Saint Me”. The track, “My Great Gatsby” is Bryan from Nine Bullets’ favorite track from the new album. When we started discussing having them debut a track from the album, he requested this song. We love Nine Bullets and appreciate all the support they have given us throughout the years. Please visit their site, check out the song, and let us know what you think. And while you are there, make sure you bookmark the site or add it to your rss reader. Nine Bullets rules.

As Bryan mentioned, the song is a an anthem and a mission statement for the band. I just love the line about DJ’s making records and how lame that is. I love this this song and of course this band and hope you are enjoying all the tracks we have shared so far.

Later today, I will be detailing the pre-order for “Sweet Saint Me” which will be posted tomorrow, Friday, October 1st. Update: Drag the River "Closed",Bad Astronaut "Acrophobe",The Gamits "Parts", ICLASOBITH "The Sounds of Dying" vinyl,

I originally planned to have Drag the River “Closed” vinyl in my hands by now, but as most of you know, delays happen. I wanted to give you an update on items that are on pre-order. Understand that this is just information passed onto me from the pressing plant and even these dates could be off a bit. The good news is that all of these releases are really close to being done:

Drag the River “Closed” LP – Inserts will be delivered to the plant on Friday, October 1st. The plant said that there is a very good chance of these shipping early next week. If that does in fact happen, I will have them by Friday, October 8th and will start shipping them then. There is always the chance that I don’t get them til early the following week, but know that this will happen soon.

Bad Astronaut “Acrophobe” LP – Inserts will be delivered tomorrow, September 30th. The plant said that they have scheduled a ship date of October 13th. 3 business days later, I should have these and will begin shipping immediately.

The Gamits “Parts” LP/CD – Vinnie at Paper and Plastick said the CDs are done, if they send them today, i will have them early next week. Vinyl is still about 3 weeks away.

I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In The House “The Sounds of Dying” LP – The funny thing about this release is that I will probably have them next week. The inserts were delivered yesterday and I think they have it on schedule to package today or tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered these releases. I know that some of you have ordered every single one of these records and while it might seem odd that I will be sending these to you separately, it makes my life easier to do it this way. Since I am handling everything by myself, it just makes life difficult to combine orders. I hope everyone understands.

If you haven’t pre-ordered any of these records, you can by visiting the Vinyl Collective / Suburban Home store.

Pre-order for Two Cow Garage "Sweet Saint Me" LP/CD/Deluxe Set Announced

On Friday, October 1st, 2010, The Pre-order for Two Cow Garage’s “Sweet Saint Me” will be posted. The release will be available on LP, CD, Digitally, and as a Deluxe Set. While the album isn’t due out in stores til Tuesday, October 26th (and the vinyl won’t be in til a little bit after that date), everyone who pre-orders the album will receive an instant download of the album so that everyone can enjoy the record before Two Cow Garage tours through your town.

On Thursday, September 30th, I will announce the vinyl pressing numbers as well as the contents of the deluxe set. I am working on something really special for the deluxe set. There will be a test pressing contest as well as a $250 Gift Certificate giveaway through Hot Leathers.

I hope everyone has been able to check out the songs that have been posted so far; on Thursday, September 30th, our friends at Nine Bullets will be giving away another mp3 from the album which should give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect with “Sweet Saint Me”. While I’m biased, I feel really strongly that this is not only Two Cow Garage’s best work to date, I think it is one of the best records Suburban Home has ever worked with. You can be the judge of these statements when you get around to listening to the entire album.

Independent Music/Craft Beer Shirts Back In Stock, Now Available in Ladie's Sizes

I Listen to Independent Music and Drink Craft Beer T-shirt

Between Great American Beer Fest and Suburban Home’s 15th Anniversary, my inventory of the Independent Music/Craft Beer Shirts went pretty low. Chad Price (of Drag the River) recently started his own printing company and is now handling the printing of all of my shirts. I had him do a repress of the shirts and while doing so decided to offer Ladie’s sizes for those ladies who are both a music and a beer nerd. The Gilden ladie’s shirts are available in Small, Medium, Large, and XL. And for Unisex/Men’s sizes, I have everything from Small to Triple XL.

We had a small crew wearing these at Great American Beer Fest this year and they were once again a hit. It was really cool as a lot of brewers claimed to own one themselves. If you haven’t picked one up yet, now is as good of a time as any.

And if you pre-ordered one of the Suburban Home Records’ 15th Anniversary shirts, I am shipping them out today. Thanks.

Ask Two Cow Garage Anything for Suburban Home Mix Tape Volume 6

If you’ve ever picked up one of the Suburban Home Records’ Mix Tapes, most of them have featured interviews with the act that I have used as inspiration for the mix. Volume 6 will feature a Two Cow Garage interview and I wanted to open it up to everyone to have their questions answered. If you have a question that you would like Two Cow Garage to answer, post it in either the comments on this blog post or on the Vinyl Collective message board.

After your question, post your name and I will be sure to give you credit for the question being asked (if your question is selected).

I plan to offer the Mix Tape as both a free download and as a burned CD with booklet. Depending on how things go, I could have the digital version of the Mix Tape ready by week’s end.

Thanks for sending in your questions.

PO: The Evening Rig "Is Doin Stuff" LP/CD, "Never Been'er" CD, "Hilltop Pines" 7"

The Evening Rig “Is Doin Stuff” LP
The Evening Rig “Is Doin Stuff” CD
The Evening Rig “Never Been’er” CD
The Evening Rig “Hilltop Pines” 7″

With the Vinyl Collective Store, I hope to occasionally bring to your attention really great records that may not be on your radar. The Evening Rig are one of those bands that have put out some really great records. This band is kind of a Mineapolis super group as the band features members of The Crush (jason, the singer) and Cardinal Sin / Cadillac Blindside (becky, the drummer). I have been singing the praises of both of the Evening Rig albums as they are the closest thing we all have to a Replacements record in 2010. The Evening Rig are to the Replacements what The Exploding Hearts were to the Clash. Being a huge Replacements fan, I welcome the huge influence the Mats have had on The Evening Rig. I know that some will cry foul at the huge Mats influence on The Evening Rig, but I feel that if the world can have countless Ramones’ influenced punk acts, we can surely have a few influenced by the Replacements.

If you picked up Suburban Home Records’ Mixtape #5, you have a track by The Evening Rig, “Half Asleep” from this album. Everything the band has put out is pure gold and if you haven’t heard this band, check them out. If you like what you hear, pick up the LP or CD or 7″. All great stuff.

The Evening Rig will be playing with Two Cow Garage on November 5th at the Triple Rock. Man would I love to be at this show.

If you pre-order any of the Evening Rig records from me, I should have records in about 2 weeks. While supplies last, orders will come with The Evening Rig Matchbooks (I won’t send them outside of the states for fear of it fucking things up with customs).
