… Of the Month

Today, I bring you our Vinyl Collector of the Day, Derek Graver. Derek resides in Columbus, Ohio; wonder if he knows Micah and the Two Cow Garage guys. Derek was kind enough to answer our questions on why he collects vinyl, records he would love to own, his thoughts on colored vinyl, his greatest vinyl score, the record(s) that got away, a record he would like to see pressed, and more. One thing that really resonated with me is how he and a lot of people first got exposed to vinyl through their parents’ collections. He recalls one particular record he would listen while playing Nintendo that always skipped in the exact same place every single time. He said if he ever hears that song anywhere else and there isn’t a skip, something doesn’t seem quite right. Thanks Derek for taking the time to answer our questions.

Today, i am happy to bring you our Vinyl Collector of the Day, Seth Goldberg. Seth calls Durham, North Carolina home and was actually given our interview by Scotty of Loose Charm as the two are friends. As you will read, Seth took the time to answer questions about why he collects vinyl, his first vinyl purchase, records he would kill to own, his thoughts on colored vinyl, his most prized records, recent purchases and more. With over 5,000 records, I love his response to how he has had to give away furniture to make room for his records. Thanks Seth for taking the time to answer our questions.

Today, we bring you our Vinyl Collector of the Day, Dylan Wells. Dylan calls Ithaca home. He took the time to answer our questions about why he collects vinyl, his most prized records, records he would love to own, his thoughts on colored vinyl, how he stores records, recent purchases, and more. Dylan sets a price ceiling on how much he spends for records; I was curious how many of you do that? It’s not a bad way to go. Thanks Dylan for taking the time to answer our questions.

Today, we bring you our Vinyl Collector of the Day, Dan Case. Dan claims Chicago as his place of residence but lives near St Louis. Dan took the time to answer our questions about why he collects vinyl, his first vinyl purchase, his most prized possession, records he would like to see pressed, his greatest vinyl scores, his thoughts on colored vinyl, recent purchases, and more. His first vinyl purchase was actually purchased before he owned a record player, something I see more and more. I’d love to know how many collectors first delved into vinyl by purchasing a rare release from a favorite band. I remember buying some of my first records because singles had songs not on the albums.

Thanks Dan for taking the time to answer our questions.

Today, we bring you our Vinyl Collector of the Month, Jason Sykes. Jason is currently in Jacksonville, Arkansas as he is serving in the US Air Force. Jason took the time to answer our questions about why he collects vinyl, his first vinyl purchase, an out of print record he would kill to own, his recent vinyl purchases, and more. He quite possibly has my favorite answers to How Man Records he owns (Not Enough), and his 4 part answers to why he collects vinyl. And while I am not sure Jason isn’t joking, he said that the owners of Mylene Sheath are his parents. I highly recommend reading Jason’s feature. Thanks Jason for taking the time to answer our questions.
