My good buddy Zach did a little research on Bronx related projects and told me to get in touch with Basement Records. Basement have put out a lot of vinyl for Bullet Treatment which has had a member from the Bronx. Sounds like the lineup is ever changing, but it sounds like it would be right up the alley of any Bronx fan.

After getting in touch with Basement, they not only sent us their catalog, but they are allowing us to set up a pre-order for their upcoming split 7″ between Bullet Treatment and It’s Casual. Not only that, but they are giving us a test pressing for one lucky purchaser of this record. Good luck! We will announce the winner of the test press around the middle of May which is when we expect to ship the pre-order.

Yes, I realize that the term Unit of Involvement sounds pretty f-ing lame, but while waking up this morning, my wife said that there might be issues with the SEC by calling the involvement in the Cooperative label shares. I told her that would have been nice to know a week ago, but being cautions, we are now calling them Units of Involvement.

I urge everyone interested to pick up a unit as soon as possible. I have a feeling these will sell out within an hour and even have a gentleman’s wager with Ben Conoley (of the Vinyl File) on the over/under 55 minutes. I have the under and we are betting lunch. Since we live so far away, the lunch bet is just a gift certificate for $10 towards some lunch place. Help me win!

Some of you have been asking when we were putting up the pre-order for the new Russian Circles’ album, your wait is over! We are working directly with Sargent House to get you the upcoming Russian Circles on all 3 colors. We had been working on trying to get a VC exclusive color, but the way the pressing was arranged, it just wasn’t in the cards this time around. No biggie as we have all the available colors which are being pressed in an edition of 3,000 copies (1,000 of each of the above colors).

If you order one of the 50 sets of all 3 colors, you will get a signed copy of the 11×17 album poster which will be hand-numbered.

We will soon be announcing the re-press of “Enter” and will have some very cool specials to coincide with the pre-order.

Pre-orders will ship on or around May 15th, 2008.

I have been waiting to announce this, but we are repressing both “Planet of Ice” and “Waiter You Vultures”. It is fitting that both bands are touring together, it just made sense to repress both. With Planet of Ice, we are doing 500 of each color and this time around, I decided to keep the crazy colors to a minimum so you will get a straight up coke bottle blue and a baby pink. With Portugal, I decided to do two color sets that match the artwork: Clear w/ Black splatter, and silver/black half and half. With both represses, we are offering a small number of sets of both colors for those of you collecting all the colors to save you a few bucks.

We are expecting to receive copies by the end of April, if not sooner. I am actually trying to get copies for the band when they play in Colorado, but at the very latest, we will have them ready to ship at the end of the month.

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive pre-order for the latest album by the Redwalls, “The Redwalls”. Mad Dragon Records have also been so kind as to offer a test pressing for a test pressing contest. The record is pressed on heavy duty 180 gram on red vinyl. And the records come with a really kick ass poster as pictured above. The entire pressing is only 500 copies which is sure to go fast. Get yours while you can.

Cobraside are pressing the latest album from Protest the Hero, we are expecting to get them over the next week or so. My buddy Jason White has started a label, Cavity Records, and will be putting out the Paulson album, “All At Once” on a limited edition double LP. 3 different colors:

500 Solid Red
350 Blue/Green Splatter
150 Red/Black Haze

We should have records in by the end of April. And there is a small chance that we will be getting a test pressing for this one. Will keep you posted.

Four Year Strong “Rise or Die Trying” LP 180 gram purple vinyl

The Good folks at Academy Fight Song were so nice and generous, they offered us a test pressing for the pre-order of Four Year Strong. Academy Fight Song previously put out vinyl for White Rabbits and Ris Paul Ric which we also carry. Read below for more info on the release.

Limited edition 180 gram heavy virgin vinyl. Solid purple colored vinyl (limited to 500!)

Born and bred in Worcester, Massachusetts, Four Year Strong blend catchy pop guitars with chugging breakdowns to mind bands like New Found Glory and Lifetime, while adding elements of hardcore influenced by bands like He Is Legend and Gorilla Biscuits. With synthesizer overlay as a finishing touch to their trademark pop-core sound, Four Year Strong truly carved their niche in the genre.

So Rivalry sold through the first pressing so quickly, we almost did not get the copies we had pre-ordered from the label. For those of you who have placed orders for copies on white, we will be getting them in next week and will email you when they ship.

Because the record sold so damn quick, Rivalry is doing a repress on Green (out of 500) and Blue (out of 1000). We will have copies of both colors. Make sure you order yours while they are still available.

Just started working with a new distributor and next week, they will be shipping us copies of the 180 gram reissues of Elliott Smith’s “XO” and “Figure 8″. I could not be more excited as I celebrate the man’s entire catalog. I know that many of you have already purchased the colored version that was being offered by Aural Exploits, from what I understand these are no longer available. Let me know if you can whether you already have it or not so I can give the distributor a good idea on how many I should order.

If you are a fan of any of the Elliott Smith catalog and don’t have these records, do yourself a huge favor and pick them up while they are still available. Your ears and your heart will thank you.
