When Nine Inch Nails announces a new album, they like to do it in style. ‘LESS THAN’ is the first track off of the band’s upcoming EP, ADD VIOLENCE. The video, as it turns out, is a modified “Let’s Play” of the 2017 video game, Polybius.
Ars Technica has a fun interview with Jeff Minter, the game’s creator. Turns out Trent Reznor direct messaged Minter over Twitter, asking if Polybius could be the basis for the band’s next video. In the end, Minter ended up hacking his game code to include the song’s lyrics during specific moments of gameplay. The end result is what you see above.
ADD VOILENCE releases next week. No word yet on any physical editions, however, we have tons of Nine Inch Nails albums in our store.

[Correction: The original version of this story assumed Polybius was a reference to the 1980’s urban legend, not the 2017 video of the same name. I blame Engadget for shitty reporting.]
