Review: New Found Glory – Nothing Gold Can Stay LP

REVIEW: New Found Glory – Nothing Gold Can Stay LP – Nothing Gold Can Stay is the album before the album that really put New Found Glory on the map but arguably still the favorite among old-school fans. It is an album that defined New Found Glory in its early days and an era of pop-punk arguably at its peak. It gets a very cool vinyl release courtesy of Drive-Thru Records and Company Ink Records. From the original incarnation of “Hit or Miss,” to the pronounced vocals of “3rd and Long” to the concluding “The Goodbye Song,” Vinyl LP” href=”http://www.shopradiocast.com/products/New-Found-Glory-%252d-Nothing-Gold-Can-Stay-LP.html” target=”_blank”>Nothing Gold Can Stay sounds solid (not perfect) on the white with gold marble vinyl. What is most impressive, though, is how the original CD packaging art is integrated for the vinyl release. The outer paper sleeve has a rectangle cut out in the center. The band name and album title are above and below it, respectively, and the girl image shows through from the record sleeve inside. It can be flipped to the cherubs from under the tray, and both images are surrounded on the inner sleeve by more photos. It’s a good effect and a great complement to a fantastic album now on vinyl.
