Being a very positive person, I will give you the good news first. We will be getting Every Time I Die’s “The Big Dirty” in on Monday and I plan to assemble a crew to help us package orders so that they can all go out on Tuesday.
In other good news, as you see in a recent post, we got in the repress of Minus the Bear’s Highly Refined Pirates and they look and sound fantastic.
Now for the bad news, we just got word that due to our pressing plant closing for 2 weeks in December and the plant being bombarded with holiday orders, Minus the Bear’s “Interpretaciones Del Oso” won’t be coming in until January 11th.
If you have orders waiting on “Interpretaciones” to come in and really want your records, email me and I will send you an invoice to pay for shipping. We will then ship the available records right away and ship “Interpretaciones” when it comes in.
My apologies on the delay, I wish this wasn’t the case.
We should be getting good restocks every day this week and for many of the days next week. Please consider picking up something as our house is swelling. Boxes are everywhere and we have been pulling and packing orders like sweatshop employees. We got in both the Ronen Kauffman and Norman Brannon books and a bunch of rad records from bands like Dillinger Four, Crime In Stereo, Converge, Weakerthans, Elliott, and much much more.
We just got in the repress for “Highly Refined Pirates” and James at Lucky Horse had warned me that the colors were slightly different than what had originally been noted. The Gold is now more of a Gold/Orange and actually it looks pretty darn Orange. The White w/ Blue and Black is actually more of an Aqua Marble. For those of you concerned that this looks like the original pressing on Jade vinyl, the Aqua Marble is much darker. I also got in more than I had originally posted so anyone that missed out, make sure you get your copies. Only 300 of each color were repressed and this sucker should be again out of print. This is my favorite Minus the Bear album and man it sounds great on wax.
We are way too slammed to get these out today, but we will do our best to get them out tomorrow.
We got in a bunch of restocks including the new NOFX live double LP/CD, a bunch of Me First and the Gimmes and Lagwagon vinyl, some Iron and Wine and Shins, Band of Horses, Avail, and much more.
Just got them in today and we are working furiously to get these all out of our house. Most of the orders will go out today, a few will go out tomorrow. There are still a couple available so if you haven’t ordered one yet, do so soon. They look and sound nice.
I am so absolutely excited to be working with Asian Man Records on this pre-order. This band needs no introduction, but back when this album was originally released, it was the world’s introduction to Alkaline Trio. Asian Man is doing an all-star make-over on the album and ever since it was announced ages ago, our message board has been buzzing.
Here is the scoop. Goddamnit is getting repressed on 6 different colors being pressed 500 pieces at a time, 5 of which we will have available:
SKY BLUE
WHITE
CLEAR W/ RED SPLATTER
RED and BLACK(Half and Half)
RED WITH BLACK SMOKE (Vinyl Collective Exclusive color)
Purchasing a copy gives you the opportunity at a chance for a test pressing of “Goddamnit”. Purchasing all 5 of the colors will get you a slightly lower price as well as a bonus copy of the CD/DVD release of Goddamnit.
Your purchase will enter you for a chance to win a test pressing for “Goddamnit”. Thanks Mike!
Note that the records are not due for release until the end of February of 2008. If you place an order for this along with other items, you will have to wait til this re-release comes in stock before your order ships.
Good luck getting your copies and let’s hope that Asian Man will release or re-release some of the other Alkaline Trio full lengths.
Everyone’s favorite Texas punks are back with their exciting debut 7″ for Asian Man Records. This one will be available on 3 different colors and the pressing numbers go as follows:
100 on Strawberry vinyl
200 on Chocolate vinyl
200 on Vanilla vinyl
We are offering 3 sets of all 3 colors for a slightly lower price and the Strawberry vinyl are only going to be available from Vinyl Collective and Asian Man. Act fast because these are not going to last forever.
Asian Man’s latest addition to their family are Buffalo, NY’s Lemuria. I have been a fan for a while, but the songs on their myspace page suggest that they are going for broke on this latest album. I am really excited for this album. The vinyl will be pressed on both black vinyl and white vinyl, and I think the preceding is more limited.
We just picked up the new Vinyl Collective and Suburban Home t-shirts. Your pre-orders for these shirts should go out today. We think they all turned out awesome and I even convinced my Mom to rock one! There are still shirts available, but they are going fast so don’t miss out on these supper limited t-shirts.
Andy, who now handles mailorder for Vinyl Collective shows that with his new Vinyl Collective Vinyl Bin t-shirt, he will never have a case of the Mondays.
My mom is up helping us out by watching our son while we lose our minds at all the orders that are going out today. Thanks Mom! and thanks for modeling our new Vinyl Collective logo t-shirt.
I am excited to bring your another volume of our “celebrity interviews”. This time around, Jacob Bannon of Deathwish, Malfunction, Converge, Irons, and about a million other projects was kind enough to answer some questions about why most of his bands put out vinyl, and you will be surprised to hear his answers to his most prized record, what he would kill to own, and his last 5 record purchases.
It should go without saying (but I will say it) that I have nothing but the upmost respect for Jacob, his labels, and pretty much everything he does. There are a lot of label owners and band members out there that just don’t get it. I can say without hesitation that not only does Jacob pay close attention to every detail of every decision he makes, he has adapted to the many changes that continue to occur in the music industry. Everything he is involved with is done with so much care. Look at their website, for example, and you can only imagine how much time and effort that was put into it. Look at the vast catalog of releases from his labels and from his bands and you will see that the not only are his releases well recorded and mind blowing, but the artwork and packaging are artistically beautiful. Besides being a label head and band member, Jacob handles the art for so many of his releases and releases on labels all over the world. He has a style all his own and you can usually identify a release he prepared the art for as it looks like nothing else out there. It is because of this that I recently asked if he might be interested in designing a future Vinyl Collective t-shirt and I am excited to say that sometime in 2008, we will have a Jacob Bannon Vinyl Collective T-shirt.
Thanks Jacob for taking the time to do this interview and I hope everyone out there takes a second to not only read the interview but to also check out his labels, his bands, and his artwork.
