SRCVinyl will release Weezer‘s Death to False Metal for the first time on vinyl this November. Originally known as Odds and Ends, the record is comprised of 11 previously unreleased (on vinyl, anyways) tracks from Weezer’s career.
Frontman Rivers Cuomo considers the record to be more than just a complication album, “These were great songs, great recordings, but for some reason they didn’t make the final cut for previous records.” According to Rivers, some tracks were simply ahead of their time and False Metal presented the band with the right opportunity to release them. He also considers the album to be the band’s ninth studio release, following 2010’s Hurley.
Death to False Metal LP will be released on November 11th, 2014, with pre-orders starting on September 30th at 3pm EST. The record will be pressed on 180 gram black vinyl at RTI, with lacquers and mastering done by Kevin Gray.
