Will Suburban Home sign Yesterday’s Ring?

That is a great question. Right now, we don’t have the answer to this question, but we are hoping that a trip to Chicago might change that. On, Sunday, December 14th, I will be flying to Chicago to meet Yesterday’s Ring and see them perform live at Ronny’s. If all plays out as I hope it does, Suburban Home will have a new member to its family.

For those of you not familiar, Yesterday’s Ring is the alt-country/americana influenced rock band featuring most of the members of the Fat Wreck group, Sainte Catherines. The band resides in Montreal, Canada, and have put out a number of releases on Dare to Care Records. Hugo Mudie, the band’s singer, and I have been corresponding for the past few months. They sent me their latest recording which features 21 tracks that will make up an album, some 7″s, and a few comp tracks. I haven’t stopped listening to the songs since I received them. Their sound bridges the gap between punk rock and alt-country.  I feel like they would make a great fit on Suburban Home both musically and personally. PLEASE let me know what you think.

If any of you live in Chicago, please come out to the show and come say hi. I would love to meet all of you.  Besides meeting Yesterday’s Ring, I am really looking forward to seeing some good friends as well as getting some good food (Pizza here I come!). The trip will be quite a whirlwind as I fly in Sunday afternoon and will be flying back on Monday morning.

Wish us luck If you haven’t heard Yesterday’s Ring, make sure you stop by their Myspace Page. They are one of those bands that would not seem out of place playing with Hot Water Music, Drag the River, Avail, or Austin Lucas. If you like the kind of stuff we put out, I think you will be a fan of Yesterday’s Ring.

seriously man this isn’t even a question, do it and release all their shit on cd and vinyl, so I don’t have to pay out of country shipping and prices! rerelease the sainte catherines shit that isn’t readily available here too, I’m pretty sure their first cds for both bands are out of print!

They are an amazing band, I am surprised no one else has signed them yet. The dixie chicks would shit them selves if they heard this band. Rerelease “Onze chansons pour faire pleuer les morts-vivants on vinyl while you are at it.”
I flew from san diego to toronto to see them play. So good.
so sign them, and hurry up and put the record out. I wanna be a diamond in a ditch!
